Kim - Kelly Wheeler runs a support group in Crofton, which is not too far for you, we have several others who come from Calvert for this group. It's at the library on Ridel Rd. I think the next meeting is April 30th, it goes from 6-8pm. She usually posts notices here when there is an upcoming meeting.

Welcome Kim, I live in Calvert County also and there are no support groups, I have gone to the one in Waldorf but it's just to far for me and here is one on the St. Mary's side I haven't been to because it falls on a bad night for me, anyway hope this helps.

The Gastric Bypass Mutual Support Group discusses issues such as emotional eating and eating and exercise habit building. The group has experience from many different sources as well as the 3 main Bariatric Centers of Excellence in the D.C./Baltimore area. Attending a support group is important because you will have a lot of questions that you need answered before you have the surgery and afterwards that only patients can answer. We share celebrations as well as problem areas as we take this journey together. Family members/friends are welcome to learn how to better support.The mutual support group meets every Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30.
