Heather...so very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I cannot imagine what her children are going through.

I had a hard time using my cpap for quite a long time but I kept on if only for a few hours a night. After some time I couldn't sleep without it. Don't give up on your cpap.....it can save your life.

Oh Heather! I'm so sorry about your loss, and for those poor boys' loss.

Thank you for educating everyone on the importance of the CPAP. I think my husband has a form of sleep apnea, and I am going to push for him to get his sleep study. Thankfully he is not a candidate for WLS, but that doesn't matter because sleep apnea can affect anyone!

Thank you for sharing, and I will be thinking about her poor family. I will pray for them.

Heather:

I am so sorry for your loss.  Thank you so much for sharing.  People don't realize how serious this condition can be.  I was one with sleep apnea before surgery and no longer have to use a CPAP because of this amazing surgery that has enabled me to live my life and not just tolerate it.

Heather,
I am so sorry to hear this :(

I almost died due to not having mine on in the hospital after RNY.  I can't say enough about using your CPAP.

((( HEATHER )))

Sweetie, I am SOOOO sorry about your friend.  My heart aches for you and her boys.  So needless and tragic.

I no longer have sleep apnea (thank you, wls!), but my brother has it REALLY bad.  I forced him to get a sleep study, and thank God, he didn't fight the CPAP and now sleeps with it every night.  I was deathly afraid he'd die without it - there are SO many complications that can be attributed to SA.

Hugs to you, love!

Tia

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. My co-worker lost her son last fall under similar conditions...the autopsy came back that he had an enlarged heart and it was felt had he treated his sleep apnea, he would still be alive. He was in his mid-30's. I had been diagnosed with SA in 2004 and hadn't been wearing my mask, but when my co-worker's son died, I took it to heart and started wearing mt CPAP again...of course then I realized how much better I felt using it, now I want to use it every night.
