Jenn -

What makes you think you ate way too much?  Were you ill afterward?

It looks like you made good choices.

I LOVE dark chocolate edamame!!!  Too much, so I don't buy it!!!

What else did you put with the chicken and black beans?  I love black beans!!

I feel like 1/2 a cup is too much at three months.  And my doctor doesn't want us to snack at all.  I do it because i want the tastes.  I know I shouldn't!

I put some taco seasoning and a can of petite cut tomatoes with jalapenos.  I just threw it all together in the crock pot until the chicken shredded nicely.  I have some spicy taco seasoning so my poor hubby had a hard time with the spice level.  My son loved it!

Jenn -

What does your doctor say about portions?  Does 1/2 cup exceed his guidelines?

I know it's hard NOT to snack, but if that's what he said, you need to try to be as compliant as possible, especially this early out.  Most guidelines relax after a bit; it's just that it's so important to lose as much weight as possible while you still CAN.

The chicken sounds delish!  I'll have to give it a try!

The nut says that it just depends on the food...  I don't feel like i get a lot of guidance on that.

Well, if you're not getting the info you think you need, PUSH them to at least give you guidelines - tell them you feel like it's too much.

However, you still will need to learn to listen to your body and stop when you're full.  If you eat until you feel ill, then clearly, that's too much.

I'm sorry I can't help more than that.

You are a lot of help.   I never eat until I'm full.  I eat until I'm not hungry anymore.  I don't really pu**** with foods that are high fat or sugar.  The worse I do is pizza toppings once a week.  My family has always done a pizza night.  I used to eat 3 huge slices now i eat the toppings off of one piece.  My puppies are very happy because they get my crust.   I can call "Puppy bites" from anywhere in the house and all three puppies are there to see me and wait for his or her bite.  :)

Okay, when I say "full," I DON'T mean stuffed sick.  Good idea to stay away from the foods high or sugars or fats - most refined carbs.

I'm with ya on the pizza - something I'm NOT willing to give up.  Pre-op, I could eat about 6-8 slices along with a salad (because that made it "healthier"), now I can do a piece, MAYBE two, depending upon the crust.

I love the "Puppy bites!" that is SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!
