Vitamins!! Help!
"OWEN LOVES HIS MOMMA, OWEN LOVES HIS MOMMA!!" LOL!!! Do you remember that line from the movie, "Throw Momma from the Train"? Sorry.
Anyway, you know I'm not a lapbander, but here's what I do:
Multi vit and sublingual B-12 in the a.m., after I've eaten breakfast
2 Calcium citrates about 2-3 hours after that
2 Calcium citrates at bedtime
I'll be a happy girl when they combine a vitamin that encompasses everything so I can swallow it all at once, and I'll be even happier when someone develops a protein pill!!!
HTH,
Tia
I've been good with my mutli-vitamins, but bad with calcium citrate. I just buckled down and bought some. I know I'm supposed to space them from the multi-vitamin. I was wondering how long.
Right now I'm starting to remind myself of my Nana! I have a weekly am/pm pill box!!!
My regimen so far is: multivitamin in morning, iron pill, and garlic pill/ mutlivitamin in evening
Tia, at least there is a protein powder, but I understand that pills are easier to swallow and get it over with!
We're all Nanas, Melissa, don't worry!!!
I don't know that I ever got a definitive answer on how long between multi and calcium, so I play it safe and like I said, take it 2-3 hours AFTER the multi.
Ohhhh, nooooo, Tia doesn't DO protein powder!!! ICK!!! It's ready to drink shakes for me or not at all!!! ICK!!

I HATE, HATE, HATE chewables. Since wls, I've had this THING with texture - I can't stand the grit from the chewables.
I can deal with the B-12, they dissolve.
Nope, I don't have to take iron, but if you do, it's best to take one that has Vitamin C, which helps with its absorption - I used to take Vitron C.
Tia
I am with you on the chewables! I didn't realize it was texture but that what I hate. I suck on them forever til they are soft or they just won't go down!
I will stick with B-12 injections although I haven't had the first yet... I like monthly. After giving myself 5 insulin injections a day for the past 10 years, I can handle one a month for that (down to two insulin a day!!)
Iron is in the Bariatic Fusion... It has 7.5 per tablet, and he said I am good with that since my levels at my one month were at the top of the normal range!
And on this note, I will eat a vitamin!
Morning- sublingual b12, Multi and calcium (we were told we can take them together)
Lunch- Vitron Iron
Calcium when i get home from work
Bedtime- Multi and calcium
If you like chewables (I love mine... it's like getting an extra treat!) Bariatric Advantage has some Multi-s that are made for lap banders. I'm jealous cuz banders ge****ermelon! :(
