Ace of Cakes!!!

For any of you who watch the Food Network, you'll know the show "Ace of Cakes". Well, it's my 11 yr old daughter's favorite show. Weird I know. Anyway, the show is about Charm City cakes in Baltimore. They make very unusual and gourmet cakes. We wanted to get one for our daughter's bday, but soon found out that they start at $1000.  We love her, but not enough to spend that much!!  We did surprise her this weekend though, they had a special appearance at the Inner Harbor. She was star struck, got her pix wth the crew and decorated a cupcake. They also had a raffle and guess what.  She won a cake!!!!  How awsome was that. We brought it to my mother in law's house for Easter, it was a beautiful cake. I had to risk dumping just to say I tried one of their cakes. I only had 2 small bites and I didn't die (Don't know if thats bad or good)

Wow! How fabulous! I watch that show too. I am so glad your daughter got to have that special experience. I am sure she will always remember it.

Okay, I'm officially jealous!  I love that show and dream of getting a cake from them.  Guess I need to start saving money!  LOL!

That is too cool! I also love that show! My hubby & I are planning on re-newing our vows in the next  year or so, & I so want them to do our cake! Tell your daughter I said congrats!

That was very awesome that your daughter won the cake!  Just recently a coworker of mine saw Duff at the Univ. of MD where he gave quite a long lecture, posed for pictures etc.  I like the show too. 

That's so awesome.  I love that show.  My stepdaughter, Laurie, is a cake artist for Graul's in Ruxton. I have to brag and say she really is amazing, so for those of you who'd rather not spend that kind of money, you may want to consider her work.  You won't get a cake with lights and cool spinning stuff, but she's one heck of an artist!

Edit to add:  Duff did a cake for friends of mine who were married at the Baltimore Zoo about 5 years ago.  I'll see if I can dig out a photo to show you guys.  It was incredible!
