Pysch Eval. Referrals Anyone?
Heather......
I too had a long appointment......with Ranesa & the doctor in Annapolis, I had an hour! Although, when I left the appointment with Ranesa, I felt good about it & was glad to know she was on my side. When I left the "dr." in Annapolis, I didnt have the same joyous feeling; I felt as if I was just another dollar in her pocket & felt unsure about her & my eval.
It was definitely an eye opener for me......... you have one person who KNOWS WLS in & out, both professionally & personally, and then you have one who has only read about WLS...........the ackowledgment of what I was doing & why, was most definitely viewed differently by both!

LOL....no problem. The only reason I know any of this is because I JUST went thru it all! Ranesa was referred by several people on here......and I absolutely LOVED her! She was great! I felt very good with everything when I left the appointment. A week later, I spoke to my surgeons office to see if they got the report; thats when they said yes, BUT it has to be done by a doctor. I was devastated! I then called Ranesa, and she was very taken back by their requirement. Afterall, if the Medical Society states she can do the eval, why should it be questioned? Its a very strange scenario, I think!
But you are right....we will do whatever we have to get approval!

Thanks everyone,
I would have loved to call her but I would be pissed if I had to do it again because of the Dr's requirements. So, I had my consultation yesterday at Barix Clinics with Dr. Boe yesterday. I received great information and the only thing he wanted me to have was the Psych Eval. I looked on my carriers website this morning because I have some funky insurance and didn't want to get caught out there with a ridiculous payment for the evaluation. I called the 1st name on this list just to see if an answering service wuld indicate office hours...well the Dr answered the phone (which I thought was kind of strange lol). I guess she's hustling on a holiday weekend. So i'm expecting her to give me some ridiculous date that she can see and but to my surprise she asked if I could be there at 11am today. She's Korean and I really don't feel like she had a clue. I had to say Roux-en-y like 5 times before she had me write it down.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/rofl2.gif)
I don't care though. She basically told me what she would be putiing in the report and that she would send me a copy and it sounded good to me, I didn't expect to have that taken care of so quickly. i hope the rest of this process runs as smoothly. I'm really worried about insurance approcal though.
