I FOUND OUT A FEW MINUTES AGO! I SPOKE TO SURGEONS OFFICE & THEY ARE GOING TO CALL ME BACK IN AWHILE, BUT THEY ARE SCHEDULING INTO JUNE........I WAS HOPING IT WOULD BE SOONER, BUT SHOOT, I AM JUST HAPPY TO HEAR THEM SAY "YOU WERE APPROVED"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I'm getting by......I keep on losing weight from the diarrhea LOL those darn antibiotics are just taking it all outta me. I got my appointment with the specialist on monday. So I guess I'm gonna get my leg squeezed then like a big berry LOL it does feel better when there's no fluid in it so I think i'm on the right track.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE APPROVAL. Do you mind if I ask what kind of insurance that you have? June will be here in no time.

Again congratulations. I am still swimming in an abyss of comfusion as far as weather or not my insurance will cover it.
From what I understand so far It is the Medical director that will make the final determination regardless of what my employer decides. but I am not taking anything for granted.
I can only speak for myself and my experience but
I have sever osteoarthritis in my knees and got hurt on the job
more than 6 yrs ago and have had three surgeries between both knees in the past 6 yrs and looking at another at the end of april. I have developed hypertension, anxiety, and hi cholestorl as a result of not being able to exercise to get the cardio up to burn the calories to get the weight down. Ie a vicious circle. I was told 5 yrs ago that the only thing that would cure my knee problem would a total knee replacement of my right knee. Since it was a workmans comp case I petitioned to get the aproval for the state to pay for the replacement.
I went to the dr in maryland ( i am originally from NJ and got hurt there) that dr is very conservative and only wants to scope the knee and feels if I do the wls that would be better and may be able to delay the tkr for 10 yrs. He also has reservations on doing a tkr because there are many complications on those done on people that weight in excess of 200 lbs. ( i weigh in at 266). So in the mean time I am subject to chronic pain, forced to be sedentary as walking and standing is difficult, cleaning house is hard as is driving and also it is embarassing for me and my bf when we go to social events and I can not stand next to him , have difficulty participating or other people have to come to me. I am only 51 and want to live an active and healthy life not set on the sidelines in pain, depressed and watch the world go by waiting to die of co morbidities.
