My guess is she will ask you what happened, why you are up...  If you are honest, she will understand more why you need WLS!

Have you been weighing in daily?  I can't imagine ONE binge adding that much, but I have no idea!  I have been afraid of the scale my entire life, I don't even own one now!

Is some of it PMS?

Good luck at the appt!  Who is your NUT?

make lee get up earlier so you guys can get to work earlier... I mean really if you're up.. you should be moving!

i weigh daily.  i was doing well.. then i lost it.  i'm up 4 pounds from yesterday and that was up 2 pounds from my lowest since starting with the NUT.  i've not been perfect most of the month.  I just cant' wrap my head around it.  I mean... all the things I have to give up for so long after the surgery. and we have the whole  hanging out with the gang issue... and we have the whole... to busy to get home and cook thing... and what do I make for dinner??? ugh. i  have a freaking feezer full of chicken... seriously.. we need to eat more chicken. I have a ton of it.

as for PMS.. no clue... i had an ablation in July 2004 and don't bleed any more and i'm peri-menopausal so I tend to have out of whack hormones anyway.

Sloane Mendelsohn is our nut.  she's with DVR....

Nessa I was up and down during my whole 6 month diet. Literally up 2 down 1 up 2 down 3. By the end of it I weighed the same as I started. Its been a few months since that ended and I can tell you im now up about 4 pounds. It was higher than that but recently Ive had a few days of non-stop going to the bathroom and now im down a few more. It never stops for me which is why Im choosing to have WLS. This has been my cycle my entire life.

As far as the ablation, I had one too so I know what you mean about the hormones. I dont know about you but I can definitely tell when it should be my time of month. Its not as harsh anymore but I definitely notice some things.

Thanks mellie.

thankfully we don't have the 6 month requirement. this is the doc's requirement.  I know he told brian to lose 25 pounds.  i don't know if he HAS to or it's just a request.

i've been doing the potty thing all along.  this is so frustrating. I know what to eat and how to eat and how little i should eat.

if i don't eat i'm fine.  it's once i start i can't stop.

Lee is sooo not a morning person!  It is painful to watch him try to get up most mornings... I just don't have the heart to force him out of bed any earlier than I have been...  I used to have to threaten with frozen peas to get him to work even!

I think the most important thing to do today is quit beating yourself up...  It is gonna happen!  If you were perfect, you would not be needing WLS...

I totally get the cooking at home thing!  My best defense for making sure I cook at home is to do prep the night before - so no real excuse... If I have to just reheat, saying I am to tired, to late to start it, etc doeesn't work as well in my mind!  I have justify it... LOL  I normally do things like pork ribs and cook the night before so I can just throw them on broil or the grill and be done with it.  I have started buying steam and serve veggies even though they are so much more expensive...  It just takes the guesswork out of cooking for me, and I am more likely to do it...

We also do a lot of beef stew in the winter - I buy a lean cut of meat, and then just toss it, my veggies and a seasoning pack into a big pot and turn my oven on 250 and let it bake overnight.  Then the next day I just reheat, add a bit of flour/water to make it thick and we have a meal ready - it is quick and I can control what I put it making it more healthy than some of my fast meals...  I also removed my deep fryer from my thoughts!

I have done my beef stew with chicken, turkey and even ham before!  They are different, but yummy in my book.  Lee of course perfers beef!

My thought before surgery was that a meal cooked at home with just fresh no processed stuff HAS to be healthier than the junk we were eating out...

I think it comes to a matter of perspective and we can all talk a good talk - it is action that matters!  If we were perfect, we would not be on this board in the boats we are in!  Talk to your NUT, tell her what is going on, she will work on ways to fix your mindset now, so you will be successful later!

Let us know how it goes when you see her!

I didn't lose anything on my 6 month diet.  I didn't have the tool that I have now.  They can't expect you to build a deck without a hammer...   :)

I only lost 3 lbs on my 2 week liquid diet.  Most lose more during the liquid diet.  :(

i really am thinking of asking Sloane to put me on a very specific liquid diet for the next month...

you know hon....I had to lose 60 pounds before my surgery and I had my dietician at the time put me on a mostly liquid diet (nothing but liquids during the day and a light meal at night)  i did that for over a year and that really got my brain reprogrammed in the right direction for what I was going to face after surgery.

Nessa I have not talked to you  much but will tell you stop beating yourself up. Everyone slips and you have been doing so well. You can get back on track.. I know.. You need to explain to the nut whats going on. I have also been told by my crazy nut not to weigh everyday since my fluid levels maybe higher from day to day. She said it depends on what goes in and what goes out. I dont know if I believe that.We are all doing our best and I am sure you are trying.. I dont know what else to say but I will try to support you as much as I can... I also think your hormones can play a part in all this too..
