Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Aaron:
If there was anything I could do to take some of your pain away, I would. I am so sorry you are going through this right now, but you are a special person and remember that you are a fighter! You will get through thiese things.
This too shall pass. Prayers and hugs coming your way!!!

Aaron I am SO sorry to hear`about your Grandfather. I hope everything turns around for the better for him. As for your legs/foot, I really wish they'd have admitted you for IV antibiotics in the first place; this stuff is nothing to mess with. Maybe see if they'd prescribe what resolves it for Floyd which is Sulfamethoxazole. Keep us posted and please take care of yourself
Sorry about your sucky year - but when i look at your pictures Aaron I just think that when things are feeling bad - just look at your before and after pictures to put some hope in your dark times. Did you get tested to make sure your don't have cdiff? What about the antibiotics - have they considered long term IV abx or you still just on PO? I've been away and haven't been totally on top on what is going on with you....but I'm thinking of you.
Hugs and kisses.

thanks all for your well wishes. @Ellen: they did do a test for c-diff when i was in the ER and thank god that came back negative. The paperwork they sent me home with was a diagnosis of intestinal flu which would explain the fever without finding any of the bacteria from the cellulitis in my bloodstream.
here's an update for y'all....i posted this on my live journal so i figure I'd better let y'all know too.
I went to my PCP today. he gives a very good explanation of what's going on with me and my leg. For many many years I have suffered from venous stasis (you know it if you saw it....you know those guys that are on the heavy side that have discoloration on their legs and they appear swollen? that's venous stasis...blood pooling so your body puts fluid there to squeeze the blood back up tot he heart) and that is hindering the effectiveness of the antibiotics. he said that if the antibiotics really weren't working then i'd probably be dead by now. Warm thought, I know LOL. so he's concentrating on alleviating the venous stasis so I'm waiting for a phone call from the specialist he called to schedule an appointment for a lymphatic drain. Basically what they are going to do is squeeze the fluid from my leg back into my body by using ACE type bandages and there's a certain way they do it. Basically once the excess fluid is gone from the leg, that should give the antibiotics plenty of access to the infection to get me cured. I'll be going for a fitting for compression stockings afterwards i believe. At any rate, I have the rest of the week off from work YAHOO!
ok..on the grandpa front. i talked to mom while I was waiting for the lady to come by so i could pick out the flooring in my new house. mom said that basically before they operated on grandpa, they had to make a decision of whether to have the operation or let him die...they gave him 2 days max. Well luckily they decided to operate on him. he had diverticulitis of course and they also found cirrhosis (or however you spell it) of the liver....he used to be a big drinker way back in the 1930's and 1940's (hmmm....i wonder if that's where i got my penchant for liquor????). so they operated on him (colostomy) and they said he pulled through really well. There was some issues with his heart (it was working too hard) so they are keeping a close eye on him in ICU. The family is hanging tough....the one who is taking it the hardest is my uncle that lives next door to my grandparents.
other news.....i'm going to be a great uncle! My niece is preggers. she's 20 years old, 5'5" and about 198 pounds and still lives at home with her parents (my sister). i figured something like that would happen. she got the help she needs from WIC and got a medical card so all that's taken care of. i really feel sorry for my sister because that's the exact same thing SHE did to my parents except my sister was about 3 years younger than my niece when she had her first child. so we're on our way to being a 5 generation family again that's still living (although my grandparents pretty much wrote my sister and her family off for the way they treated us).
so here i sit, waiting for the specialist to call me to make the appointment....don't think it's gonna happen today...probably tomorrow.
you know i complain a lot but i really have to hand it to my parents.......between me and my sister and my grandfather, THEY'VE been through the hell.
