Finally Found......And Another Doctor Visit

a local, "normal" grocery store that sells TVP, almond flour/milk, and other items that have been mentioned here! I had been looking & trying different items pre-op, but I had only found most of them at a natural food store, where needless to say the prices were a little higher than your everyday grocery store. But today, after taking my daughter to the doctor yet AGAIN, I ran into Acme to pick up a few odds & ends, and right past the sketti sauce was bags of TVP.....and across from there was the almond flour & milk......I felt like I was in heaven! Especially when I saw the prices! Acme is famous for higher prices, but the prices I saw today on these WLS friendly items were very reasonable! I have this "goal" where as I try at least one new WLS friendly "item" {food} each wee****il my surgery, so I am super excited that I can go back later & pick up some stuff to try!
Now back to the doctor visit AGAIN......I have taken my daughter to the doctor once a week for the last month! Symptoms incude persistant cough, severe body aches, fever, vomiting, and very very tired.......first we were told it was pnuemonia, then it was allergies {which I laughed at!}, then it was a sinus issue, and today it was mono! They did order some blood work which will definitely trace mono, but GOOD LORD, how long are you going to make this child suffer? She is 16, and has a very healthy appetite & a normal sleep pattern.....for the last month, the child has eaten, if we are lucky, a half can of chicken soup a day, and has slept 20 hours out of 24 a day! This is definitely wearing my nerves thin! I hope the new meds they put her on, helps this time!

Oh my! The first thing that popped into my mind when I read your daughter's symptoms was mono and then you said it. Hopefully they can get her treated and she can feel better and then mom can have some peace of mind.

What is TVP?

Loser's visualize the penalties of failure. Winners visualize the rewards of success.

Mom I hope you rest in Peace knowing that you were loved and will be missed. Keep love alive in your       heart as I know I will. You are now an           and I know you will be looking down on us from above......... I am OK.......

Glad you found it near home.  I have searched all the stores near me and can't find any of the good stuff!  :(

I hope they find out what's wrong with your daughter.  Mono scares me.  It can be very dangerous.  Good luck!

Julie-  I think I drive right through Crofton on my way to my surgeon's office.  He has a satellite office at Shipley's Choice (Glen Burnie) and when I was driving there I passed by Crofton shoppng center.  It made me think of you!  :)

I never thought to look for TVP, etc in Acme....I'll have to check it out.  I ended up ordering mine from the Redmills website.

Keeping your daughter in my thoughts and prayers!
