Question...

A dear friend of mine who is in the beginning stages of weight loss asked me a question and I don't think I really had a good answer for her for the following question.

"What did you find to be the worst change you had to make?"

I said the only thing I could think of was giving up carbonated beverages, especially coke, although I now have a fondness for Sobe Lifewater 0 and SF Iced Tea.

Anyone else have any thoughts on what was the worst change they had to make?

Drive Thru's!  No more fast food stops when I am running late!

Just my first off hand thought...

Thanks Angie! It can definitely be challenging when we aren't prepared for the day by having the right food with us. That is a good answer and I'll be sure to pass it on.

Anyone else?

Nessa, I eat most of my meals out. I am just usually very careful of what I order.

Sometimes I miss not being able to just sit and munch on stuff while watching t.v. but not too much.  For me the worst thing is the loose skin, not really a change I had to make, as much as a result of WLS.  Starting to save up money now because I highly doubt I'll have a reason for insurance to pay for it.

Very true Heather.  It's also a good time to start looking for a plastics doctor.

For me it was a couple of things:

Right after surgery, I had a hard time keeping down foods and it feels like you are going to starve.  I felt like I would never eat "normal" again.  Unfortunately that didn't last for long.

Carbonated drinks is another for me and then sweets.  I will never again eat a whole donught or creme brulee or ice cream.  Not because I can't, because I don't want to go back from where I came.
