I am soo sorry :( I know it is disheartening to get told no, but keep persitting with the doctors office and you will get what you need done!
Use this as motivation to keep on your pre-op diet, remember the goal is to lose weight, and the more lost before surgery, the safer and easier surgery will be!

Thanks for everyones support.
So, I got more info. She finnally faxed over some paperwork but still missing weight loss attempt psyc. evaluation and nut evaluation. So, I got a really nice supervior from UHC that will process an appeal today if those are faxed over. So, I am going to get my copies and fax them over. I can wait on someone who does not feel my pain.

So sorry to hear this. I'm surprised they reviewed your case without having all of the required documentation in hand. I had a similar experience in getting all of the documentation to the insurance company from the surgeon's office. My insurance, however, would not begin the review until they had every last piece of paper. How frustrating for you! Keep going back and forth between the insurance company and surgeon's office to make sure it all goes through. It sucks that we have to do this but we do and it's better for us in the end. Be persistence!
Good Luck!

I was so sad to read this because I always speak so highly of DVR's staff. Rose told me on a Wednesday that she was faxing my documentation and to give it two weeks. However, others had told me that Aetna will typically make a decision in less than a week. I called Aetna a week later and they told me they had not gotten my paperwork. I called DVRs office so pissed off and I got Barb on the phone.... and she told me that she had just received my approval! So, in my case, it was Aetna that gave me wrong information and not Rose that didn't do her job.
Stay on all of them!! If you're in Maryland and you meet the minimum criteria... they won't deny you.

It may not be Rose, after all. I had the same problem with Aetna. They didn't deny it, they pended it. I called Rose, fuming. I talked to DVR and his wife in person (he was still at GBMC at the time). I *****ed here on the board enough, lol, they'll tell ya. Rose had proof of faxing all of the documents, and the Nurse at Aetna (in her case notes) kept saying she had not received things. I finally got through to a supervisor at Aetna and found out that the documents were sitting in an in box, waiting for the Nurse to pick them up. It is fairly common for insurance companies to need things faxed several times. I've seen it on these boards over and over again. Rose told me that, but I was so frustrated at the time, I refused to believe her.
I think it stinks that UHC would deny, without all of the documentation to make the decision. I hope everything gets moving quickly, and that your approval is just around the corner!
