I add flax seed to my shakes in the morning - just a teaspoon or 2. It actually raised my cholesterol (well, something raised my cholesterol) but it has other benefits, so I still use.
I am not hypercholesterolemic but didn't appreciate going from 160 to 194....but cholesterol funny and has some swings. I'm back down in the 170's but my HDL has gone from 35 to 57 so that could explain a few things....
