THE END OF TWO TV ERAS

I heard this morning that after 72 years, the much-loved soap opera, "The Guiding Light," will be going off the air.

I have many fond memories of watching the soaps with my Granny - all household activity ceased to exist so we could watch that, "Search for Tomorrow," and "As the World Turns."

Then, when I was 13, my g/f and I REALLY got into TGL - particularly because John Wesley Shipp played Kelly.  What a hottie he was!!  In fact, when Dawson's Creek was on, he played Dawson's father, and was STILL hunky!!!!  LOL!!!

I haven'****ched a soap in a very long time, but I'll miss this!!

ALSO,

Tonight marks the end of "ER," it's on from 9-11 p.m., and I'm going to make every attempt to watch it.  I loved this show ever since it came out and none of the other hospital based dramas could compare.  I mean, really, WHO could live up to George Clooney, Anthony Edwards, Noah Wylie and Julianna Marguiles?!!

WAAH!  I feel like the world is tilting off its axis!!!

Reality shows on VH1.  With reality "stars" from other of their "reality shows."  1/2 naked women and rude men all competing for the big $ prize at the end, or the love of their X.

Okay, I've watched a few episodes!!!  LOL.

LOL!!!!  One of "THOSE!"  I HATE reality shows.  My life's enough of a drama - I don't wanna watch someone else's!!!!!

I used to ****** fanatic:  I have it set to record tonight.  The last few seasons

I have no****ched as much but its sad to see it come to an end.

 

I'm with Darla and Tia - loved ER but haven'****ched it in YEARS.
I remember the episode when the female doctor got custody of her sisters child - but ended up losing custody.  The show ended with her reading GOODNIGHT MOON to the child before he/she went back to her sister - I WAS BAWLING!!!!

That was Dr. Susan Lewis and her whacked out sister, Chloe.  I think the part that got me was when she was frantically looking for little Susie's stuffed rabbit, and was going NUTS!
