Just Following Tradition

Both of my parents have sleep apnea and sleep with CPAP machines.  Well, I got the results back from my sleep study, and I too have sleep apnea. I stopped breathing an avg. of 34 times in an hour. I go tomorrow night for the CPAP sleep study. Oh joy. Which means, I won't get much sleep! At least this time I know to bring skimpier clothes because they keep the place like an oven.

I'm so glad I'm finding this out now. Not happy to have sleep apnea, of course. But happy to discover it and list it as another reason for the insurance company to approve me!   I made sure to get a copy of the report to send it in with my paperwork.

Hello Lisa gald you found out SA can be so dangerous. I found out last year I have it also . I knew I was a mouth breather but SA. I couldnt believe it. So I now have my freindly CPAP machine. It took me a while to get a good mask but I have to have full face since I am a mouth breather. I can say I do notice a difference since I have been using it... Good luck and no you wont get any sleep..Glad you found out before surgery....

Lisa -

As you've discovered, there's virtually no sleep during a study!!!  LOL!!!

Like you said, just look at it as a means to an end toward approval.

Hang in there, it'll all come together!!

glad you found out.  Brian has a split study next friday so he will have half the night of not sleeping without a mask and half a night of not sleeping with a mask.

If it makes you feel any better :  I did get more sleep when I did the one with the machine:
It takes some time to get used to the mask but I slept better then I had the first night.
