Its official....

I have a hernia. I knew it. Went to see the NP today and she confirmed it. I see a surgeon on Friday. Wish me luck.

Thanks guys. I have no clue if they are going to want to do surgery now or wait til after banding. Ill find out Friday.

Maybe they can do it at the same time?  - sounds reasonable to me, but I am not a doctor...

They didn't detect mine during testing but Dr. warned me that alot of overweight people have them and that if he found one he would fix during surgery.  I think it's one extra 1/2 inch cut.  Hopefully your surgeon will fix yours during surgery as well!

Oh, Mellie, try not to stress too much, honey!!!  Like others said, maybe it can all be done at once - kind of like one-stop wls shopping!!!

Although an unexpected wrinkle, it is good that it was found and that it can be corrected. Here's hoping they can do it at the same time as your WLS surgery.

Thanks guys. Im trying not to stress. Im actually seeing a surgeon on this side of the bridge for the hernia on Friday.  My dad had one repaired by him and Ive heard a ton of wonderful things about him. Im going to ask him what he recommends. I dont even have a date yet for banding and as of today they still have not sent in my paperwork for approval because I only just paid the nut last week. Either way I will ask the surgeon what he thinks.
