Question

ok gang.....i'm in some serious pain and i haven't been to the hospital yet.  i woke up this morning and my right leg that i have been having so many problems with was hurting as if I had slept all night on it.  I just chalked it up to that......as my day wore on, the pain kept getting worse and worse.  right after lunch I started getting a fever and I went to the bathroom to see if i could see anything on my leg.  OMG....well my legs are naturally swollen (from the venus stasis) but this time, from the calf muscle down to my heel was all RED and VERY tender tot he touch...like it hurt to touch a newly growing hair on my leg and it was HOT (indicating infection).  I have been thinking the worse.  it feels like someone took a sledgehammer to my leg and swung as hard as they could.  for the rest of the time I was at work, I put my leg up and then the fever took hold and I decided to just come home.  when i brought my leg down i just about screamed in pain because the blood was coming back to it and it was throbbing something fierce.

I'm really hoping it's not a staph infection (I've never had one before) but I can't see any bites or anything.  If it does turn out to be staph....I'm just wondering about the antibiotics they will put me on....are they wls "friendly"?

aaron... get to a doctor STAT. 

DH has venous insufficency in his legs and he almost lost a leg to something like that last year.

I have been on some antibiotics since surgery for pneumonia.  They worked okay for me.  Get to the hospital!!!

GET TO HOSPTIAL NOW.....DONT WAIT PLEASE......

CELLULITIS!!!!!!! I'd bet mt band on it!  Floyd gets it every year!

Are you at the ER getting checked out now?  That sure doesn't sound like something you want to futz around with.

after a phone call with heather and Cira, i'm gonna go to the clinic tomorrow to see if i need to go to the hospital.....I'm hoping they can give me anti-biotics because Heather's Floyd has the same thing and it sounds exactly like what i have and that is cellulitis.....but I'll know for sure in the morning.  i have a list of people to text in case they wanna keep me and give a status report.

Aaron, if you don't feel up to driving yourself in the morning CALL me and I'll come GET you and TAKE your skinny ass to the ER!  From experience with Floyd, Ibuprofen helps with the fever/chills, but I know NSAIDS are a no-no for you.  Keep us posted and SERIOUSLY, call if you need help!
