O/T another company shuts its doors

Just heard that a competing trucking company shut their doors an hour ago:
Transportation companies have been hurt very bad by this economy.

I'll admit being frustrated by this company often:  they were always cutting
their rates to beat ours.  But they were in business for over 70 years and
its a sad thing to hear of yet another business failing.

RIP BOND TRANSFER

they fired 10 people from our company a few weeks ago. i thought for sure it would abe my job that got the axe cause i am part time with all benifits but i was told i was safe for now. we would be ok if i did loose it but we would have to be creative in the kitchen and learn how to make beans a bunch of different ways for sure.

This is scary stuff.  I'm sure when your Dad began building his company, it was unfathomable to him that a transportation company of all things could be shut down.

"They" say it'll get better, but how many lives have to be destroyed before that happens?

Yes it is scary;  and like I have often said thank God for contracts - We have a couple years
of security left  then who knows  -  I always thought that truck drivers were like nurses-
they could go anywhere and find work -- Its not that way anymore

That's just awful...
And I know what you mean Darla - my BIL has been out of work for 6+ months now - he was driving a dump truck and I thought drivers were in high demand.  Not so much right now...

They laid off 10% of our workforce yesterday. Luckily, my job was safe (for now anyway). These are scary times!!!

Yea I thought so too. My hubby has a cdl class A with all endorsements with no accidents and or tickets for the past 30 years. He has been looking for pt work and cant find a job. This is so crazy... This country is in a big mess. Hubby works ft for USPS in transportation. They have had so many runs that have been cut and there is hardly any mail....This sucks big time...
