Anyone from the Eastern Shore?
I'm looking for some WLS pals on the eastern shore of MD just to share stories and be online buddies. I'm looking for a support group to join here too. Seems the only ones here are ones that are run by the surgeon's office here and are only for his patients. I didn't have my surgery performed here and my Dr's support groups are 2 1/2 hours away.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Hello and welcome!
I live in Worton....which is near Chestertown......the other end of the Shore!
There is a support group that meets in Easton once a month, and it is not surgeon based, as far as I know. They are having a meeting April 8th at Easton Hospital with a visiting surgeon. I am sure one of the other members that have more info can jump in here & give you more info!
Feel free to message me anytime!

Hi there!!
I'm not on the Eastern Shore, but hopefully someone will chime in for you!!
I just wanted to welcome you to the Maryland Board and let you know that you're welcome here any time - it's YOUR board, too. This is a wonderful group of people, and I'm sure you'll find the support you need!
Take care,
Tia

having lived half my life in seaford, de i am aware of a small group of very nice ladies there that frequent the delaware board on here. of course, they also read this board, so the "ick" comment may not help you win friends and influence people.

hmmm... i'd be interested in hearing what experiences you've had that have left you feeling that salisbury is so much greater than its surrounding communities. that is, if you want to share. when i worked in the shopping center industry and had to prepare demographics for new stores, salisbury did not compare well economically or in terms of crime.
i'm not being argumentative. i agree.. we all have our own experiences.. but i'm interested/intrigued. to be quite honest, i'm more aware of people leaving maryland for delaware because of our tax rates.. particulary that we rank 48th (maybe worse now) as the worst state to retire in due to the tax rate on retirement income. i've had friends leave salisbury because the crime rate is one of the highest per capita in the entire state of maryland. as a result, the average family income has dropped. so, these are my experiences.
