NYC TRIP ATTENDEES

Some people have expressed interest in going to Ground Zero on 4/4.  Keep in mind that right now, all you can really see is what appears to be a huge construction site, gaping holes in the ground, fencing, etc.  There is, as I've mentioned before, a church that sits in front of the site - it's a really small church with both historical (George Washington era) significance and 9/11 significance.  However, it and the surrounding small graves can be viewed in just a short amount of time.

Personally, and this is just ME, I've seen it, and really have no interest in visiting the area again until the permanent memorial site is completed (God knows when).

Anyway, take a look at this and decide if you want to go, as it's at the far southern end of Manhattan:

For those of you who are NYC wergins, you might want to consider staying in midtown Manhattan, since that's where much of the "touristy" areas are to see and do.

Is there still a Century 21 across the street? That makes it worth going for me, lol. I can drown my sorrow over 9/11 with great shopping. No disrespect intended, of course. I've wanted to see it, but can see it just about any time since I am in NYC 4-6 times a year as I travel back and forth to visit NJ.

I think there is.  I told Darla last night that I'm already looking ahead to fall dates on Megabus.  Right now, September 30 is only $1!!!!  So I'm hoping if I wait a bit and keep checking back, they'll post some October dates. 

Since Darla's a wergin, I thought we could do all the touristy stuff this time, and explore different parts of the city next time.
