I went to my first support meeting tonight. I was more comfortable than I thought I would be. I'm very shy in big crowds. I learned a thing or two, as well.  I might have to make this a regular occurance. Of course, I'd have to see if I can come into work late every 3rd Thursday of the month.   If anyone reads this who was there tonight - nice to meet ya. I heard one person mention OH.

Next it's my psych eval and last 2 nut classes. Then it's time to submit for approval. I'm hoping to get all of this done by the end of April. woohoo It's getting closer!!

I am really shy too. I am so nervous about going around new people. I am glad you felt so comfortable and learned new stuff too.Good luck on your evaluation and nut classes.  I hope you get your approval soon.

Hi Lisa,

That may have been me.  I was at the meeting tonight and I did mention how much I learned from OH.  I was near the end of the table, the second person to say her name,  I wore a blue blouse, black sweater.  I'm glad you liked the mtg.  The mtg tonight was unlike any other, usually they are "controlled" conversation after the presentation or topic of the night.   Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.  I'm glad you felt comfortable to come back.

Yep, that was you Charla!   I was wearing a purple shirt, across from you and a few seats down.  I was listening to your conversations the most because it seemed like you knew what you were talking about! :)

Oh I remember you!  It was pretty hard to listen or hear much of anything, thank you for your kind words.  At first I thought for sure they would have everyone quiet down.  I find it troubling how  little a person really learns from their surgeon and staff.  I learned, what I think I know, from internet research and mostly reading and reading and more reading here on OH.   Let me know if you go next month so we can meet.  I look forward to it.

Lisa, Is the Bayview Support group open to all WLS patients? I had my surgery at Sinai and my schedule prevents from making there support group meetings.

Thanks

Adrienne, I know you asked Lisa but just in case this gets buried and she doesn't see I'll answer.  Yes, I'm sure the Bayview support group is open to anyone.  There was a woman there last night that had VSG at Sinai and was there to support her friend who was having her's at JH.  We don't see to many people that have had surgery else where, but I know you would be welcome.  I hope you can come.

It's every 2nd and 3rd Thursday of the month. :)

I'm really hoping I can make it out to more of them.
