The woodpecker will buy the farm

Not much on the weightloss side I am at a plateau for now til my next fill probably. Anyway I have recently had a woodpecker that has taken up residence in my shed literally drilled a tennis ball size hole in my t-111 siding that cost me an arm and a leg. So I thought I would go about this the right way and trap it. Well that didn't work so I let my Shar-Pei chase it awhile and that isn't working so the last resort is the obvious he will be shot. I wake up to this damn thing in the morning at about 5:30 am drilling on some tree out back. I also have had a certain squirrel climb up under the hood of my pick up and destroy the insulation under the hood well guess what he is going to die to,  this is now an all out turf war against these critters. I have taken all possible ways to save these critters lives but to no avail so playing Rambo with a pellet gun is the only thing left to do. " Is it wabbit season yet" hahahahahahahaha.

I feel your pain.  Live in Crofton, MD squirrel capital.  They tear off metal, wood anything to get to the attic.  Being an old farm boy and hunter, I tried the live trap, got 2 in the attic. Other 2 had to go down with 22 pellet flat heads.  Dont use the .177, they go right through at 1100 ft per sec. Not dinner food just trash.  Got to be a good shot up here, close quarters  - PROBLEM SOLVED

I live in Crofton too. I have had a little gray critter who loves nuts do the same thing to my chevy pick up. They are crazy around here. We sprinkled red pepper around our yard and that helped a bit... Good luck they are playing a game with you..HAHAHA

I grew up in Greenbelt, which is overrun with squirrels. Big fat squirrels. The elderly ladies in the neighborhood always liked to feed them peanuts. The squirrels will go right up to you. They are fearless.

Update on the woodpecker. Well the damage to my shed wasn't the woodpecker it is a squirrel so his life will be shortened with the death penalty.  On the other hand the woodpecker is guilty of hammering on my gutters right outside my bedroom window @ 5:30 am on any given day. I will try first to capture him humanely for about a week and if he doesn't go for the trap then his fate will be sealed also, he also will meet the man with the plan good ole dead eye Dusty - Animal sniper at large hehehehehehehe.
