Been away...need to rant

So I"ve been really busy at work so I've been slacking on the board.  Just a few things that I need to get off of my chest.......possibly gain a new perspective from some wise people out there......

1.  My brother is getting married in October (he's the baby among the sibling AND the only boy...and the first to get married).  His fiancee has a good heart but is being a bit of a bridezilla.  I told her that I'm going to need to order my bridesmaid dress as close as possible to the wedding because of my weight loss.  She finally decided on a dress off of the internet (after taking me to David's Bridal 2 Saturdays ago and having me try on 25 dresses AND take pics of me in all the dresses and then didn't even pick a David's Bridal dress...but thats another story in itself!!) and said that we have to give her our sizes IN TWO WEEKS because it'll take 10-16 weeks for the dresses to be delivered.  How am I supposed to guess what size I'll be in OCTOBER? I could conservatively guesstimate a size and then have the dress altered......but what if I guesstimate completely wrong and the dress has to be drastically altered.  Its going to cost an arm and a leg.  My god I'm ticked off!! PLUS she picked $50.00 shoes that we have to order off of the internet.  Who buys shoes without trying them on?

2.  I started laser hair removal on Saturday and it FREAKIN HURT.  I looked like I got stung by a million bees.....and it felt like it too.  Stupid media for making it seem like a glamorous process.  Stupid PCOS.....stupid FAT, stupid HORMONES.  Stupid stupid stupid.

3.  People in the "non WLS world" just don't understand anything!!!!  Ahhh....my future sister in law made a comment about my arms, "girl, you need to start working out" to which i responded, "I DO!!!"  They do NOT understand that weight lifting isn't going to get rid of skin.

Ok, I think thats all for now (that'd be relevant to the board anyways!)

AAARRRGGGHHHH  What a problem;  You are still a recent postop so you will
still be losing a lot of weght fast-  honestly I don't have any good suggestions
( other then to tell the bride that as much as you want to be in the wedding that
you can not order the dress this soon.)    I'm sure your brother will understand
and that he is very proud of you!!!!!!!

As far as the arms:  I consider mine a badge of honor : will I get plastic surgury
someday  Sure but until them they remind me of how far i have come.  I
have been really good about exercise this whole time but nothing can
help skin on the arms.

Congrats to your brother first of all.   as for bridezilla.... oy what is it about a wedding that makes perfectly nice women turn into morons???

I would also decline to be in the wedding due to inability to determine dress size appropriately.  I would offer to purchase a dress in the appropriate color so that you 'blend' in with the family.

as for shoes,   no way I'd wear shoes wwithout trying them on.  besides your foot size is going to change too.

sorry about the laser hair removal.

oh and my response to  "girl you need to start working out"  would be  "girl you need to get some manners and a brain"

but i'm a *****

UGH...sorry about all of it!  As far as the dress goes, I was in my cousin's wedding many years ago and when we had the order the dresses they ordered a size 20 based on my measurements.  2 weeks prior at my final fitting, and many lbs later, I was a size 14 and they had no trouble taking all of that in.  Conversely I was in my sister's wedding...we ordered the dresses and then they decided to have a civil ceremony and save money for a church wedding, which turned out to be over a year later.  Of course I gained weight during that time and the dress had to be let out.  It's much better to get something too big than too small...it's cheaper to take things in too!

As far as the working out comment....how dare she!!  People do suck!!

Hello I have to agree 100% with Nessa. I am so tired of people being rude to people who are trying to lose weight. They need to shut their pie holes. Unless they have wlked in your shoes they have no clue. Sorry I heard that the laser hair removal was painful but thats not what they tell you on tv. I hope it gets better. I also think you should follow your heart with regards to the dress. There is no way you can really say what you will weigh. My sons GF is in a wedding and it just cost her 150.00 from Davids to have the dress taken in and to add 4 small buttons... Good Luck honey you are going to need it with Bridezilla...

I am a living, breathing example of someone who declined to be in a wedding (brother-in-law's) because of dress size issues. I was having a baby in November and the wedding was in early January. She wanted me to order the dress when I was like 5 months pregnant with no idea how much I'd gain and really no idea of what I'd be able to lose. I just politely explained that I could not be responsible for messing something that important up and that I'd be happy to have an important role--perhaps a reading--but that it couldn't hinge on my dress size. She actually was grateful for my honesty. I just did not need that pressure, especially not with a new baby.

And for what it is worth, slap your future sister in law now and get it out of the way. Sounds like she could use it for more reason than one!

Good luck.

Denise
