You are lucky to have BC&BS federal.  YOu have no 6 month weight loss period and very easy approval.  My went to the same doctor that I went to and they made it very easy on her!  Nice!  YOu could have surgery in a couple months with my doctor's office.

I heard that for 2009, BC/BS Federal changed their requirements and now they also have the 6 month weight loss period...don't mean to be a downer, but that's what I have heard. Just wanted to throw that out there in case someone has BC/BS Federal.

Sorry you heard wrong.  I have FEP-BC/BS  there is no six month weight loss period.    ONLY a BMI of 40 or greater (or 35 with comorbidities)  they do ask you use a  Blue Distinction Center.

We are in the process of having our tests down now.

the copay has gone to 15%  and $200 for the hospital

Angie -

That's great!!!!  Like Deb said, at least you didn't MISS the appointment!!  Since it IS your last appointment before they submit for approval - you might want to check (while you're there) to make sure everything's in order.  You don't want any surprises to impede your journey!!!

WOO-HOO!!!

Like what? I did all the testing my insurance and DVR required. This is the last of the 3 visits with Sloan that DVR requires. So, I THOUGHT that was it. Should I just ask Sloan if it is being submitted to my insurance or do I need to talk to DVR? I confused????
