OT - My Willow-kitty

Well,  if you read my three things today you'll have seen that my Willow is not well.  She is underweight - she usually weighs 8 lbs but is down to 6.5 lbs.  She's dehydrated although both my husband and I saw her drinking yesterday and she drank quite a bit this morning.  When the vet listened to her lungs, things didn't sound good, she wasn't getting much air flow - off for x-rays.  She's got a ton of fluid in her chest which is compressing her lungs and heart.  It's possible that she has some sort of infection but it could also be a result of feline Leukemia or Feline HIV.  She was tested for both when she was younger and was negative for both.  So, I had to leave her at the Animal Hospital.  They are going to drain the fluid, put her on anti-biotics and fluids via IV and see how she does.  The vet cautions that only about 25% of cases get better after all of this but we'll hope for the best!!

Wow, sorry to hear your sad news.  You have my prayers.  Pets are just as much a part of the family as the actual family.  Hope everything works out for the best.
