Oh my gosh, no, you didn't offend me.  I often call myself their "Non-Mom," and Kaity and Brian have told me I'm just like a Mom, which I take as the highest compliment.  Many people here thought the same thing as you, and I think I sometimes confuse the personnel at their schools and doctors offices.  What's funny is that we ALL look alike, so they look enough like me that they COULD be mine.

Another thing - I don't offend easily, so no worries!!!  And I'm pretty honest, so if I don't like something you say, I'll tell you!!!!

It's all good!!!

Tia....
I hope K feels better soon & doesnt get any worse! Congrats on the poster contest & kudos for practicing so hard for the math challenge! My oldest daughter, who is 16, woke up this morning with horrible body aches, her throat is RED with huge white patches, and she has a fever....so we are off to our pediatrician! I have already began the lysol regimen!
BTW.....where is Mo these days? How is she doing?????

1} I am greatful that we had to go to the dump yesterday...... someone left a like new, WORKING, elliptical machine there! Well, hubby decided it needed a new home knowing that I have been pricing them..... yes, I married a dumpster diver! LOL....but hey, he just saved me several hundred dollars!

2} I am greatful that I am crazy enough to be here & call many of you friends....... yes, Tia, I read the post about being crazy! LMAO

3} I am highly anticipating the Vera Bradley bingo tomorrow night..... my bff & I go to all the local ones....this time we are taking hubbys with us....hey, maybe they can win us those purses!

4} Finally, I am greatful that I have made this decision to change my life, and this time everything is working in my favor! This 2 year long journey hasnt been easy, or even pleasant at times, but it has made me more determined & strong.....yeah, I might still live in my suit, but I have gotten the courage to show ME.....and hey, if people dont like my fat suit, well they can kick rocks! I am still a good person.......I will shed this suit soon, and I will still be the same good person!

Thanks, Heather!!!  I just talked to my brother, he woke her for her 11 a.m. drugs and she said, and I quote, "Daddy, I feel like crap!"  WAAAH!!!  Oh, yikes, your poor teen!!!!  Here's hoping that it's still early enough for her to get some meds that will work.

Mo - I sent her an email yesterday about NYC - I assume you saw the post (unless you did and responded and I'm blonde).  She said she promises to catch up with me.  She's Facebooking a lot these days, for which she will be severely punished!!!  LOL!!  She's also coming up on her 5 year surgiversary!!!

Hey, you know what they say.....one's man's trash is another's elliptical!!!  LOL!!!  As long as it works and saved you bucks, that's great!!

Crazy is as crazy does, girlie!!!

O M G!!!  You'll have to let me know about the next VB bingo - I HATE basket bingos, but I love me some VB!!!  Every year, my Mom goes to SC and brings me back some sort of knock-off.  My request this year is for the brown/blue pattern that's popular.

Yes, you are a good person - most of us are, and it's a shame that people still look down on overweight people.  I'd like to think society's changing, but unfortunately, I don't think so!!  As long as you're happy on the inside, yeah, they can kick rocks!!!!!

Keep me posted on your baby!!

Hugs,

Tia

Tia.....
Well, so much for going to the doctor~ they are double booked! BUT they can see her tomorrow morning! LOL.....poor kid! I guess I will dose her up with over the counter, or take her to the ER......Ughhh!!!!!!!!!

The VB bingo tomorrow night is @ 6pm in Chestertown.....which is about 35 minutes from the Bridge. They have them here often! The brown/blue pattern you are talking about, I actually have a SMALL one that I bought for my daughter, but she doesnt like! Its brand new, never used.....it is SMALL.... but perfect for a day trip where you do not wanna carry a full size purse.... can fit a small wallet and keys in it & thats about it.....if you want it, its yours! Just send me a PM with an addy!
My bff & I go to all of them! We also do the baskets....my kitchen is full of them! My hubby likes it cuz I pay $20 to go to bingo & come home with $100 baskets.... saves him $$$$$!!!!!!!! It is fun.... we always have a blast! The last one we went to was to benefit the local senior center {cute story} and they had a YOUNG, like 17 or so, boy as the caller.... this room was filled with SENIORS, and I do mean SENIORS.....this young boy called "O 69" and this lil lady who looked to be about 100, jumped up and yelled "Oooooo69, God I miss Oooooo69" in this weird creeky, seductive voice!!!!!!!!! The whole room got QUIET, the young boy turned RED and was speechless....then everyone started laughing hysterically! It was priceless!  But, yes, I will let you know when there is another one...... maybe you can come on down here & hang with us crazy E' Shore girls for the day!

As for society & how they treat people.... it is horrible! I am 36 & it has taken me YEARS to accept me for me & to not try to fight every person that looks at me cross..... but its hard, I have a 13 year old daughter who is over weight & she struggles everyday with how she is treated.... I try to help her, but she is very independent & doesnt wanna hear what Momma hass to say....ya know, at 13 you know all! LOL......

Heather -

Sorry, don't know what happened, I JUST got the email that you'd responded to this post.  OH is having lots of glitches these days.

Anyway, I'm sorry the doctor couldn't see your baby earlier, BUT......keep in mind that CVS and some Targets have Minute Clinics in them to diagnose stuff like this.  Don't know if you have one near you, but it's an option.

I would LOVE the VB bag, but I'd like to give you something for it!!  What do you like?  Candles?  Want some protein bars?  They taste like candy, little girl!

O M G!  I would have DIED with the old lady telling the world about "69!"  How cute!!

Yes, it IS hard to accept yourself when society doesn't accept you.  K is 13 and struggles with her weight - poor thing, she's genetically dispostioned for it.  It's so hard, because I'm sure that like me, you don't want YOURS growing up with those struggles.  And of course she knows everything - she's 13!!!!  LOL!!!

Morning all (for a few more minutes anyways),

I'm sorry to hear about all the sick kids out there!  I swear this year has been one of the worst.  My nephew has double ear infections and my niece is battling a lovely cold with all kinds of congestion....my poor sister, they are both miserable!  I never get the flu shot myself because even though they say it can't make you sick...it does...every time!!  Thankfully Mike's kids haven't gotten really sick this year which is VERY unusual for them as they don't have a healthy diet and don't get any exercise (yes, another winner of a mother there) and their immune systems are generally shot!  I'm about to hit up a bottle of lysol myself as my new employee was hanging over my shoulder sniffling today...I wish I could have said "HEY...BACK OFF would ya!!"

I hear everyone on the hiding behind fat...I did that...I had friends but I was soo embarassed about my looks that I would stay home rather than go out by choice.  I think my fat contributed somewhat to my social anxiety as well!

Congrats to Kaity for her winning poster...that's awesome!  She may not think it's a big deal now, but she'll come to be very proud of it as she gets older!!

So anyways...today I'm grateful...

1. That tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!  Even though it's been kind of a short week in that I worked from home for two days...I'm so ready to not have to come in this weekend.

2.  That this weekend is supposed to be so warm.  And we turn the clocks forward so that it's lighter later in the evening.  Come on SPRING!!!!

3.  That my husband suggested that we start exercising together both as a way of getting healthier and as a way to spend time doing something together.  We need that!

Have a great day everyone!!

Hey girl!!!!

Yeah, K has not escaped any bug out there this year.  And it's funny, because her diet is MUCH healthier than her brother's - he of the mac and cheese and fish stick diet!!!  No, no, no to people hanging over your shoulder - sniffling or otherwise - I have personal space issues and freak when someone's standing behind me!!!!  LOL!!!!

Amen!!  Come on spring................and then turn to fall!!

Way to go, Mikey - for recognizing the need for exercise and time spent with his beautiful wife!!!

Hugs,
Tia

Me too!!!!  She's Asian and has totally different ideas of personal space, etc.  I'm having a hard time with it.  She is now sitting next to me coughing and NOT covering her mouth.  I'm going to have to take a shower in Lysol!  This is a late 40's/early 50's woman, not a child.  O....M....G!!!!

U G H!!!!!  TELL her.  I mean, come on, that's rude, not to mention ICK!!!!  If she doesn't want to cover her mouth with her hand, tell her to cough into the crook of her elbow - that's what they teach in schools and doctor's offices now.

EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

O M G!!  I'm sure I'll get slammed for this, but what the hell, I can't have everyone thinking I'm an angel ALL the time.................................tell her you don't want the Asian flu.

Okay, let me have it.

OMG...I about spit my caponata out when I read that!

I'm now armed with a bottle of lysol and paper towels...maybe she'll get the hint .  I'm so non-confrontational sometimes!  It's customary for many of them to wear surgical masks to ward of flu and such, hmmmm....I'm thinking, I'm thinking...
