DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG THEY TAKE TO APPROVE? AND HOW DIFFICULT/EASY THEY CAN BE TO DEAL WITH?

Hey girly!
I cant offer no input on united.....I also have medicaid right now, however I have priority partners, and Dr. Magnesun's office said the normal wait time for approval with them is 48 hours to 45 days! I would think with medicaid, they would have the final say so, and it may be a standard wait time for all the medicaid programs?!?!?! Honestly, I am not sure tho. My paperwork should be off in the next 2 weeks & then I begin the dreaded decision wait period!

Have they sent all your paperwork in already?

No. My paperwork will be sent in on Wednesday, next week. Can't wait. I plan on calling them on Monday morning. I have bee told that if you call them and let the case worker know who you are that it is faster for an approval. Not sure if that is true or not......but I am surely gonna try. Calling and sucking up to the case worker cant hurt. LOL. I am so excited!!!!!
Have you completed all you testing? I have and United Health requires one last visit with the doc after all testing is complete for the doc to say that all the test and myself are in good shape to ungo the surgery. I don't know how everyone makes it through all the waiting time. It's killing me.!!!!!!!!!!

That's great!!!!
Do you have that appointment before your approval?

No.... I cant actually make the appointment until I have been approved & have a surgery date..... but its ok. So still, I sit & wait!

I do not forsee any problems with that appointment. The only issue I have is when they intubate me they have to do it fiber optically, due to my bodies makeup. But thats been an issue that I have had with surgeries my whole life, its not a big deal.

Hi

I have United healthcare and it took approx. 10 days for an approval once my paperwork was submitted and my surgery was scheduled with Dr. vonRueden 2 weeks later.

Good Luck

thanks Diane. That is very encouraging. DVR is moving to the new office today, I called to be sure my appointment was still on for next Wednesday, it is!!!!! I spoke with Rose and all my testing is in order. But, they told me that they could not submit to insurance until after this next appointment. I hope she will submit it asap. This waiting game is killing me. did you have to do a liquid diet?
