Or is it spelled pancko?  Does anyone know where to buy them?  I've run across tons 'o recipes using them and have never seen them in the store.  If anyone watched Biggest Loser last night, Rocco Dispirato (sp?) was on and made oven fried chicken with them and chicken breasts...it looked soooooo good!

Thanks!

Wow!!  Great minds think alike!!!!!  I've been seeing them in the grocery stores - in the bread crumb, coating, cracker meal aisle.  I've seen plain and Italian.

Been wanting to try them, so if I do, I'll let you know, and you do the same!!!

And yes, panko is correct, but it's Rocco Dispirito!!!  Anything else I can help you with today?   Thanks for shopping our Giant!!!

I haven't seen them in my Food Lion or at TJ's, so I guess I need to venture into Safeway or God forbid....the "G" word!!

Well, you guys got me curious since I really was not sure what was different about Panko. So I found this info online - http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-panko.htm. I also noticed in my search results that Progresso makes both of the flavors that Tia mentioned.

I was wondering what they were myself.  Wendy's has been advertising a new fish filet sandwhich with Panko breading

And speaking of breading -

I did try the Gorton's potato breaded fish last weekend.  Nice and crispy (if you remember to turn them over halfway through baking) for fresh out of the oven, but for reheating for leftovers - eh....kinda mushy.

It did have a great flavor, almost as if you were eating fish dip on potato chips.

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in.  LOL

i've also seen the panko breading in the chinese/oriental food section of a couple different markets.
