You must work for the state too!  I didn't get any furlough days because the college protected the employees from the furlough with some creative budgetting.  I was willing to take a furlough.  I was actually kind of looking forward to it.  LOL  My husband makes the cash and I have the benefits so as long as they don't take away my benefits, i would have been fine...  Enjoy your day off, even if you HAVE to take it without pay!

Yep, 6 years to go until I'm retirement eligible!!!  WOO-HOO!!!  Trust me, it really DOES have its benefits, I just resent when the State budget is balanced upon our backs.  So not fair!!  And yes, I realize I'm lucky to have a job with great bennies, etc., but STILL!!!!!

Thanks!!  I WILL enjoy my day out with Mom!!

Great, I try to catch up with things here and Tia has to be talking about chocolate fudge cake.  Since moving in with my sister I have been consuming sweets at an all time high.  The nice almost-spring like weather had me geared towards making today my start to really getting back on track.  And then......BAM!!!  Chocolate fudge cake.  Okay Andy, you can do this.  Just walk away from the cabinet.

My three things for today:

1.  The calender.  Take a look my friends, three days until March!!!  Yahoooooo!!!  I don't know about you, but when I see March I see shorts and no more winter jacket.  Oh yeah, baseball season is right around the corner.

2.  Tier 2 emergency unemployment.  I've been out of work since last friggin' June and the news of ANOTHER extension was music to my ears.

3.  My cousin for giving me a really nice 18 speed bike.  As some of you may or may not know my drivers license is suspended until NEXT June, so the bike serves two purposes - transportation and exercise.

For those of you that have at all followed the arson situation around here, they have the two young "men" in custody with one bail set at 9 million and the other has his bail hearing tomorrow.  Just when we thought we could sleep a little easier, some jackass decides to torch 7 school buses at a local middle school in the Coatesville school district.  One of the buses was my son's.  I'm guessing a copycat, but who knows?

Oh, trust me, Andy, that cake was calling my name - big time!!!!  The worst thing is....*I* made it!!!  But it was my Mom's bday, so it's all good.  And it's at home - I'm at work!!!  No big deal!!  LOL!!!

I'm with you - I hear flip-flops calling my name.  Um......please tell me that the shorts you mentioned AREN'T Madras plaid, worn with black knee socks?  Please!!!!

Wow!!!!  I didn't know bikes came with that many speeds!!!!  Or more than 3 wheels, to be honest!!!  I've been wanting to get a bike.  I need teeth more than I need a bike, though, so maybe after the dental work is done!!

MAJOR SUCKAGE about what definitely sounds like copycat work.  What's going on with the Chief of Police position?

Have a great day!

Tia

I didn't know they still made plaid shorts.  Nope, just regular old Tommy Hilfiger, Old Navy and Levi's.  Socks only when I wear the jean shorts and they are white ankle socks.  One thing I actually do have is a fashion sense.  I think it came from all those years mom and dad sent me to school looking like a hobo.  Once I was able to take care of myself I made a promise to me that I'd never look like a model for a used clothing store.

The bike is pretty cool, and I'm not sure what one does with 18 speeds.  I've used about three of those speeds so far and it's worked for me.  Man, as much as I've run the last couple years, my legs were never as sore as they were after riding that bike the first time going up hills.  Geesh.  I have a whole new appreciation for Lance Armstrong.

The chief had stated a couple weeks ago that he's gone as soon as the city feels safe to lift the state of emergency.  We thought that was going to be soon after the two jackasses got carted away.  Then the bus fires came earlier this week.  I guess we're stuck with the clueless idiot for a little while longer.

Take care sweetie!

Andy

Oh, yeah, they still make plaid shorts!!!  In fact, I was in Penney's a week ago and there are some downright FUGLY ones out!!!!

Talk about a blast from the past - I don't recall how old you are, but I'm guessing you're close to my age (21)......do you remember OP shorts?  I swear to God, they're BAAAACK!!!

YIKES!!!

Another thing that creeps me out?  Men in sandals!!!  ECH!!  Except on the beach!!!

Actually Tia, I turned 22 in December.  And yes, I remember OP shorts.  It seems most styles wind up making their way back sooner or later.  What the hell was the name of those shorts that had all those bright colors in them and then you'd wear a shirt that had one of those colors in it?

Well, well Miss Tia, we finally have what I believe is our first disagreement.  I live in my sandles when I'm wearing shorts and no socks or sneakers.  Can't help it, they just slip right on.  And the beach is for flip flops, not sandles.  Okay, I'm out before you slap me upside my head.

Dammit, the name of the shorts is right.........THERE......this is going to make me nuts!!!  I'll remember it at 3 a.m., I'm sure.

Okay, you can WEAR the sandals, but never, never, never with socks.  I WOULD slap you then!!!

Oh my God you didn't say that!

I ordered me a pair from JCPenneys!  I got the Jade Plaid ones.

Now I'll have to make sure I don't wear them around you.

No, goosey!!!  The men's plaid shorts are FUGLY!!!

Those are pretty cute, but I don't need to be looking like the broad plaid side of a barn, so nuh-uh for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So...............that'll make 28 pairs of pants/shorts??? LOL!!!
