Surgical Consult Today!

First, let me start by saying THANK YOU to all who wished me a happy birthday! I can honestly say it was the first one I have celebrated by spending the day on the road going to B-more for a doctors visit.......but I was SOOOOOOO happy to do it!
I had my consult with Dr. Magnesun today........ I must say that he was MUCH more pleasant than he was 2 years ago when I visited him for the first time. He was very thorough with his consult, and answered all of my questions {which I was armed with a notebook page full of!!! :) }
He said since my PCP has been so thorough and persistant with labs & tests over the last 2 years, that he didnt see anymore that needed to be done, except the normal bloodwork & EKG that is required prior to surgery. I have my NUT appointment this Friday.....my last visit of my supervised diet is on 3/3, and I am in the process {thanks to Cira!!!!!!!!! {{{HUGS}}}} of having my psych eval done. So........ this means if all goes well, I will have EVERYTHING done in the next 2 weeks and they can submit everything to my insurance company for approval!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Valerie, his office manager, & Dr. Magnesun said they see no problems getting approval since I have such a detailed diet history { 2 yrs!}, my BMI is high, and my list of co-morbities. So, keep your fingers crossed, and keep me in your prayers........ I am FINALLY on my way to becoming a loser!!!!!!!
So, yes, this was a GREAT birthday!

Hey Heather glad everything is going so smoothly. I got to meet Dr. Magnuson while I was in the hospital. He made rounds and checked on me. He seemed really nice and caring. you'll have your surgery in no time. Let us know the date. Take care

I am so glad that you had an awesome birthday yesterday. Nothing beats preparing for your RE-BIRTHDAY on your birthday! What an awesome gift!!
So glad that you had a positive visit with Dr. M this time around. It makes it all better and now all you have to do is focus on getting the psych eval done and the pre-surgery tests done.  
I can't wait to hear when you finally have gotten your approval and surgery date.
