pannus removal
I haven't had that done but I was told by my insurance that if it is medically necessary they will cover it. So if you have any rashes and stuff going on that makes it difficult for you, you need to take pictures and journal everything and have constant visits with your pcp have everything documented. Call your insurance and see what they tell you.
Good luck with everything.
Good luck with everything.
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I have not had a consulttion on this yet, but I am considering it for the future. I went to a presentation at a WLS support group meeting one time, where a plastic surgeon went over the various procedures. With regard to insurance and the pannus. there is actually a scale of severity from 1 to 5, with 3 to 5 having the most severe skin overlap/hanging. He said many insurance companies do cover it if you fall in the 3 to 5 range. Of course, it ultimately depends on your situation and your insurance. I agree that the other points mentioned here about complications caused by the pannus are also a contributing factor for insurance to cover this.
You and I have the same surgeon and I just had a LBL on January 23rd with Dr. Kharilla. LOVE HIM! :-) Anyway......insurance does not cover it and I was self-pay but it was worth every penny. Dr. A's office does not mention plastics until after your two year. Your body is still moving and changing. I was over two years out before having mine. Any info I can give feel free to ask.
