You know what I hate most about lunch...
GASP! Nothing special about some mushrooms!?!?
Oh my goodness - I love me some mushrooms! Hubby won't eat them, and they are sort of forbidden from the house.
I love teasing him when I ask him what he'd like for dinner - if he doesn't get back to me, I ask again, and then tell him I'll get some beef liver with mushrooms and brussel sprouts - nothing like threatening him to get him to fess up what he wants for dinner!

Mmmm...I love cabbage too! There really isn't much I don't like (besides liver). We grew up with the rule that you sat until you ate what was on your plate. I don't think we even had the option of going hungry if we wanted to!
Mike's excuse with the seafood is that he didn't grow up with it. His mother just cooks your basics and he's not very adventurous. I've gotten him to try some new things but never seafood! His kids are the worst! Their mother does not cook...nor does she have many groceries in the house and what is there is extremely unhealthy...their grandmother feeds them dinner nightly and lunch as well on the weekends. It's no wonder they are overweight with all the junk they eat. However, if there is something that everyone else is having and one of the kids doesn't want it, she'll make an entirely separate thing for them. This DOES NOT happen at my house but I pretty much make the same 4 or 5 things that I know they'll eat when they are there so I don't have to listen to complaints. Sorry....there's a reason I don't have any!
Most of the time Mike is cool with whatever I choose to feed him...as long as it hasn't been in the ocean!
