hypothyroid--anyone needs rx meds increased since surgery?
My TSH was normal for a long time on 125mcg of Levoxyl including post RNY....until now. I have been feeling much more tired than usual over the past few months and got my TSH levels tested- among other bloodwork.....I expected to be low-borderline anemic as usual. One of my liver enzymes was a little high- AST I think- but not much above high normal. I was surprised my vitamin D levels were in the normal range----I am taking about 3000 IU Vit D daily. I did not think my TSH level would go so high though. It had been around 1 for a few years and now its almost 6. I take Levoxyl religiously each AM when I get out of bed---before breakfast. My TSH level has never been over 10 ever since I have been getting it tested -so it never gets super abnormally high anyway. But 1 to 6 is a big jump for me ----and it could explain my increased tiredness.
Just curious if anyone needed their dose of hypothyroid rx increased due to malabsorption? Or maybe the dose needs to be adjusted every so often---not because of RNY surgery issues.

I haven't had WLS yet, so I can't answer on that.
However, it is also possible that you got a bad batch of pills. It's been known to happen. I'd ask if you can get another prescription filled.
You don't take your Levoxyl with your Vitamin D, do you? Plus you have to make sure you take the Levoxyl on an empty stomach. (I'm sure you know all of this already)
I'd have them test again, if you don't feel better soon. They should then adjust your prescription accordingly and test again.
Best of luck to you!
