Today my Dad got the official results from last weeks CT guided biopsy along with more details on his situation. We found out Dad is at Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Without treatment he has 6 months to live and WITH treatment he has 16 months at the most. He's going to have another CT scan to check his belly (seeing if it's in other organs) and an MRI to see if it's in his brain. They know it is in his bones (and because of that they will not remove his lymph nodes which also have the cancer) and they'll do another scan to see where all it is in his bones, they know it's in his ribs. He's starting chemo the first week of March. I asked Mom how Dad was doing and she said Dad is disgusted and I told her he'll go through a whole range of emotions in order to deal with it all. I told him he has to stay as positive as he can to help himself. So, it's been a rotten day. We've all just got to process what the situation is and move forward from here.
