Dr. Coughlin?

I've been trying to make an appointment with Dr. Coughlin. Every time I call it goes to voicemail, I leave my number, and they never call back.  Did anyone else have this problem?  If so, how did you fix it?

I guess I will have to keep calling until I speak to a live person.

Also, I hear she does not take any insurance. Is that true?

The JH practice used a different psych when I went through the process last year.  I might suggest calling or e-mailing Christine Walsh.  Whenever I had issues like this calling her usually got them resolved.

It's just annoying because I have a very limited amount of time to call them. I have my 1 year old running around during the day and I'd rather not call from work in the late afternoon because there is no privacy. I always try calling around 11, when the little one is napping... I've tried at other times too, and always get the voicemail. I wouldn't mind if they'd just call me back.

i have same surgeon as you, and i ended up having to go to a diff. phyc cause she never called back and then when she did she did not make me an apt.  She actually called me back to tell me she had a long line of phone calls to make and that mine would be somewhere at the end of her calls and then said goodbye and hung up.  She was very rude and i found someone else to go through because even if i had gotten ahold of her and got an apt i was not going to allow anyone to treat me that way.  i can only imagine what she would be like in person. 

i forgot to say though, do what u have to do because we have one of the best surgeons.

I just had surgery with Dr. Schweitzer and I did not use Dr. Coughlin when I did my psych evaluation. I did go to the Weight Management Center at Hopkins to do my evaluation with Sarah Johnson, since I had to pay out of pocket anyway. In case you want to try there, the number is 410-583-2860.
