Hot Flashes . . . . anyone?

Over the last couple of weeks I have been getting hot flashes.
Anyone experience these after WLS.
I know it's not because I'm pre-menopausal as I had a hysterectomy years ago because of cancer, so I'm trying to see if anyone else has had these symptoms.
It feels like an overwhelming heat stroke comes over me all at once and then after a few minutes it subsides.
I was thinking it may have to do with diet.

Lucky you.  You definately don't want them.  And having been a cancer patient, you can't take estrogen for them, so I just had to grin and bear it.  AVON make a hot flash spray at the time and I kept it at my desk at work.  Everyone would know when one was coming on, because I was back there pumping my spray.  It did seem to work though!!  and sometimes, that's all that matters. LOL.

Hey Lis!!  When I saw your title, I thought, "Um, none for me, thanks!" LOL!!!

But I Googled it and of course, everything talks about experiencing hot flashes after either a partial or a full hysterectomy, but doesn't talk about how long they would continue.

I also Googled "hot flashes after bariatric surgery," but that mainly seems to be directed toward dumping.

Sorry I couldn't help anymore, but here, I'll fan you!!! There, better?

Hugs,

Tia

I did experience them after my hysterectomy, but that was so long ago, they went away withing a couple of years.
I think I'm going to start journeling my food again to see if it happens after a specific item that I'm eating.

Yeah, I know, I hate them!  It's like having your own personal sauna.

Have a great VDay!  Tomorrow's my 13th wedding anniversary.  He should love having to deal with me and my hot flashes!!!

Hi Lisa

Sorry you are having the hot flashes. I had a hysterectomy in 2003 but thank god I never had had hot flashes.   I hope I don't. I certainly hope they are not related to surgery however, I am sure they are not, they will probably pass.  Did you go to the support group meeting? I had to miss it I got off work late, things have been crazy. Sure do miss you!

Hugs
Terri

Hey Terri:
I hope they pass quickly.  I didn't have any over the weekend, so I'm hoping maybe it was just a virus or something.  I did go to support group meeting and missed you!!!  Hope you can make the next one!
