Okay, yesterday, at least until noon, was a good day, eating-wise.  THEN.....it all went downhill.  For the first time in a very long time, I felt like I wanted to eat because of my emotions.  I did, and paid the price!!  Which is not necessarily a bad thing!!  And, I'm very aware of why I ate what I did, and that, in itself, is a huge victory for me!!

B - Greek yogurt with strawberries

S - Banana
      Cheese cubes

L - Lean Cuisine (or CuisMEAN, as B used to call it!!!) - Roasted garlic chicken and parmesan spinach

OKAY, here's where I lost my head:

S - Red velvet cupcake w/cream cheese frosting (no, I didn't dump, but only because I ate it over the course of an hour, I think)

D - 1/2 double cheeseburger and 1/2 order of small fries - UGH!!!!!

Oh, well, I did get more than my share of fluids in (as usual) and all of my vits.  Today, I'm back on track!!!

What about YOU?

This is a thread I need to become active on EVERY day.  Since moving back to PA and in with my sister, my eating has gotten WAY out of control.  It's easy for me to blame it on her and the meals her family eat everyday, but I'm a grown man.  I need to start doing my own shopping and bringing in healthy choices for myself.  I'll be 3 years out on March 1 and I know better.  So, starting today, I have decided to rededicate myself to eating better.  Here is my plan for today:

B - already ate 2 eggs, toast and 2 strips bacon
S - 2 cheese sticks
L - turkey and cheese on wheat
S - SF pudding
D - my son is treating to Applebees (he won a gift card at school)
S - probably won't have one unless I get to GNC to pick up protein mix

If I don't follow through with this thread I need someone to get on my ass.  It's been a while since I've been on a routine and I need to get back on track.  I have my 10 mile Broad Street Run coming in May and I'm nowhere near ready.

Hey honey!!!

It's easy to get TOO comfortable with eating.  For you, yes, it's easier to just eat what your sister has or fixes, and I think making your own choices is the first step.

Although I try to sit down to dinner with my family when my schedule allows, I RARELY eat what they're eating!!  In fact, most of it nauseates me now!  LOL!!!

Applebee's has some great selections - hope you and your son have a blast!!

Make sure you get tha****er in, too!!

Hey Tia,

Thanks for the water reminder!  That's probably been the hardest part.  My goodness, I didn't think it was possible for a family to drink so much soda.  When she goes shopping she must need a seperate cart just for 2 liter bottles of soda.  She does buy a case of bottled water, but she has two kids, plus my mom is staying with us because she got evacuated from her house a month ago because her neighbors house burnt down.   She drinks water, too.  So I feel bad everytime I take a bottle.  I think when I go shopping I'm going to have to buy gallons of water and just store them away and put one at a time in the fridge.  I'm just going to have to explain it to everybody that I need to have this available to me and that I won't touch their water if they don't touch mine.  I know when I lived with Beth I lived off crystal lite.  Absolutely love the stuff.  I'm going to have to start with that again.  Man, have I gotten way off track.  It's amazing how far off the wagon I've fallen.  One thing about Beth, she was VERY focused and very health conscious.  I need to live off what I learned from her.

Andy -

Growing up, we ONLY had soda at the holidays and for birthday parties, it was never a part of our daily lives, and still isn't.  That's not to say I don't LOVE a Coke Zero every now and then, but it's generally water with the Walmart brand of Crystal Light or Powerade Zero.  Each night, I do drink about 12 oz. of skim milk with Splenda - in some crazy way, it helps me sleep better!

I also do a fluid check post 1-2 times a day.  It's a reminder to help us drink - there are so many dire ramifications if we get dehydrated!

Most of the water I drink was bottled, but my dentist said that I need the fluoride from the tap water, so since we have City water and not well water, I usually fill up a 64 oz. container every a.m. and bring it with me.

It's all about doing a little bit of planning to have what you need on hand!

B:  1/4 cup ricotta with 1 Tablespoon SF strawberry preserves

L:  quesadilla made with 1 corn tortilla, 2 oz. ground turkey w/ spices, refried beans, and 1/4 cup shredded cheddar topped with salsa and then a side of 1/2 cup spinach

D: 3/4 cup of my own version of hamburger helper......ground turkey, mixed veggies in 98% fat free cream of mushroom and 4 marinated artichoke heart quarters

S:  the BEST part of my day!!! 3/4 cup Edy's NSA triple chocolate ice cream topped with 1 Tbsp melted natural peanut butter and 1/4 of a sliced banana. MMMMM!!!
