Hey honey!!!
It's easy to get TOO comfortable with eating. For you, yes, it's easier to just eat what your sister has or fixes, and I think making your own choices is the first step.
Although I try to sit down to dinner with my family when my schedule allows, I RARELY eat what they're eating!! In fact, most of it nauseates me now! LOL!!!
Applebee's has some great selections - hope you and your son have a blast!!
Make sure you get tha****er in, too!!

Thanks for the water reminder! That's probably been the hardest part. My goodness, I didn't think it was possible for a family to drink so much soda. When she goes shopping she must need a seperate cart just for 2 liter bottles of soda. She does buy a case of bottled water, but she has two kids, plus my mom is staying with us because she got evacuated from her house a month ago because her neighbors house burnt down. She drinks water, too. So I feel bad everytime I take a bottle. I think when I go shopping I'm going to have to buy gallons of water and just store them away and put one at a time in the fridge. I'm just going to have to explain it to everybody that I need to have this available to me and that I won't touch their water if they don't touch mine. I know when I lived with Beth I lived off crystal lite. Absolutely love the stuff. I'm going to have to start with that again. Man, have I gotten way off track. It's amazing how far off the wagon I've fallen. One thing about Beth, she was VERY focused and very health conscious. I need to live off what I learned from her.

Andy -
Growing up, we ONLY had soda at the holidays and for birthday parties, it was never a part of our daily lives, and still isn't. That's not to say I don't LOVE a Coke Zero every now and then, but it's generally water with the Walmart brand of Crystal Light or Powerade Zero. Each night, I do drink about 12 oz. of skim milk with Splenda - in some crazy way, it helps me sleep better!
I also do a fluid check post 1-2 times a day. It's a reminder to help us drink - there are so many dire ramifications if we get dehydrated!
Most of the water I drink was bottled, but my dentist said that I need the fluoride from the tap water, so since we have City water and not well water, I usually fill up a 64 oz. container every a.m. and bring it with me.
It's all about doing a little bit of planning to have what you need on hand!

B: 1/4 cup ricotta with 1 Tablespoon SF strawberry preserves
L: quesadilla made with 1 corn tortilla, 2 oz. ground turkey w/ spices, refried beans, and 1/4 cup shredded cheddar topped with salsa and then a side of 1/2 cup spinach
D: 3/4 cup of my own version of hamburger helper......ground turkey, mixed veggies in 98% fat free cream of mushroom and 4 marinated artichoke heart quarters
S: the BEST part of my day!!! 3/4 cup Edy's NSA triple chocolate ice cream topped with 1 Tbsp melted natural peanut butter and 1/4 of a sliced banana. MMMMM!!!
I used to LOVE going to Friendly's at night and getting appetizers and a sundae....I'd get Hunka Chunka PB Fudge topped with Hot Fudge..........so my homemade sundae was a throwback to old times. I was talking to my boyfriend last night about how I want to do a WLS friendly appetizers and sundae night.......he was totally excited about it so I'll have to plan out my apps!
