Hi...I'm new here.

I'm Kelly.  I'm newly married, and I live in Catonsville with my husband and 3 cats.  I've been overweight since puberty, and now my BMI is over 60.  It's time to take the leap.  I had a consult with Dr. Von Reuden, but then I quit my job due to health reasons (related to my weight, unfortunately) and switched to my husband's insurance.  Dr. Von Reuden isn't covered under my new insurance, so I am now going to go see Dr. Steele at Bayview.  My new insurance (Hopkins EHP) does not require the 6 mo supervised diet, so I am hoping I can be on a pretty fast track to my surgery date once I get in for the consult.  Fingers are crossed.

Hi Kelly    Welcome to the board.  I hope you have a stressfree journey but
always remember you have a great support group right here whenever you
need us.  My BMI was 62 -  18 months and 125 Lbs. less I am off all meds I
was taking preop and off the 24/7 oxygen I was on.

Hi Kelly!  We share the same surgeon and I highly recommend her.  You will do awesome!  Be straight with her, and do exactly as she asks you to do.  She is an excellent surgeon,  Good choice!!!  

I didn't need the 6 month supervised diet requirement either.  My initial consult was late August and I had surgery early December, will that be fast enough for you?   If you have any questions I can help you with feel free to ask.
