I'm BAAAACK!! x-post

Hello everyone. I'm home from surgery. Not much feeling like sitting in front of the computer, so this will be a quicky. I'm a bit achy overall and battling a nice headache, but okay otherwise. I'm getting down fluids fine and walking around some. The drain was the weirdest thing ever. I'm really tired because as you all probably know, sleep is at a premium in the hospital. Some stinking alarm literally went off almost the entire time. They'd silence it for 30 second then there it was again. Now I just need to figure out how to get down all these chewable vitamins . They did have me do a couple small pills already, which did fine thankfully.

Well, I'm going to try to get some good rest and hopefully be feeling more like myself everyday.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Everything did go very well and for that I am very grateful.

Take care!

Denise

Oh, and I got to meet Candie. We never did get to walk the halls together, but she'd pop in to see me and I'd pop in to see here and it was nice to have someone to compare notes with. She seemed to be doing pretty similarly to me--a bit uncomfortable and ready to be home!

I'll be honest, he's not much for personality, but everyone in the hospital raved about him and since I'm sitting here right now to tell the story, he's alright by me!!  He is very humble still though--I was signing off about complications and where it said about leaks, I joked, "But you don't have those, right?" He said, "No, no, no, I never said never--but it is less than 0.3%."

Thanks!

Denise

Denise -

So glad to see you home and on the loser's bench!!!  Just make sure you walk, sip and rest, your body will have a lot of adjustments to make - as will your head!!  It's gonna be great, so just hang in there!!

Let us know if you need anything!!

Hugs,

Tia

Denise,

Welcome home!  I hear ya on the drain.  Did they rip it out of you or do it slowly?  I'm going to say that having them pulled out slowly is by far the better way to go.  My RNY drain was ripped out of me and felt like it ripped my pouch with it.  Not fun!

Keep sipping and walking and you'll be up and at 'em in no time!

It was the old breathe and rip routine. Freaky. I don't have a slow pull out to compare to either. And this nurse was getting "certified" in drain pulling. I said with all due respect, could you get certified on the nasty guy sitting in the hallway!! She was fine though and did as she was told.

I'm still feeling very "heavy" inside--kind of like when I was very, very pregnant. I do think I am improving each day though.

Thanks everyone!

Denise
