PLEASE PRAY
Thanks so much Tia. He is my WORLD! I went into shock almost seeing him like that last night because he just looked like a dead body and it was so traumatic. I dont ever want to see something like that again. Im so sick over it. He even joked this morning that he would not leave me because he didnt want me starving to death. bahahaha Smart ass! lol But I love him!
Jilly,
You had every right to freak out. To see a loved one go through something like that is absolutely frightening. My mom has had a dozen strokes over the last few years and it really is scary. The good thing is he is at the hospital getting looked at and is obviously in good hands.
My thoughts are prayers will certainly be with he and you and I want you to keep positive thoughts. I know it's hard to think positive right now, but whatever is ailling him will be detected and treated. Take care.

Thanks Andy. (((Hugs)))) How is your Mom now, does she still get them? He has never had a seizure before but the nurse thought it could have been a stroke. Only because his speech was kind of slurred for a bit when he came to but then it was back to normal. But your right it is so scary to witness that. Thanks again.
Jilly'
I'm totally tearing up right now. Your husband is supposed to be your rock, and to see him like that must have shaken you to the core!! I never want to see my husband like that, and I hope you don't ever again either.
I hope everything checks out ok and I'm saying a prayer for him right now.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Mike. I understand what you are going through it is the most scariest thing to see someone having a seizure let lone a loved one. My husband has a seizure disorder he was diagnosed with it in 1977 you see he had a very bad car accident as a child and had severe head injuries he was fine througout his entire life and never had one until he was 27 years old in 77. That seizure was the result of an allergic reaction to medication he was taking they could not find anything else wrong with him. Then a year later out of the clear blue sky he had another seuzyre so he went and saw the doctor who sent him to a neurologist who did a CAT SCAN and they said that he had a lot of scar tissue in the brain and the 77 seizure was a gateway activity to activate the scar tissue which contributed to oxygen loss causing the seizures. They put him on Dilantin 400 mg a day, he has been fine all these years and has only had about three seizures during the 30 years and they have been when he has missed doses of medication. He has went as long at 10 years in between a seizure. Thank god I never saw him in a seizure until the bad one he had in 2001 where he dislocated his shoulder and I was alone with him called 911 and they took him to the hospital at the hospital he stayed for more tests and they set his shoulder, the shoulder got dislocated from the tensing up of muscles and thrashing around (they call them grand mal seizures). It was at that time he saw a Dr. Bajaj at North Arundel Hospital who is a seizure specialist and he told my husband he should retire from his job because as he got older the problem could get worse and he would not take responsibility to sign off for him to return as my husband was a High Voltage Electrician for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and had been in that field for 25+ years. I use to worry everyday about him working in his field of work but he would not change it, as if he had a seizure on the job he would have been killed instantly as he worked with over 100,000 volt of electricity. . He retired in 2001 and he has had two seziures since then even though he was on medication one where he fractured a vertabrae in his spine but is ok now. He continues to take medication and does work as a regular Electrican now because he is too young to actually retire plus he is stubborn. I have learned seizures can be brought on by many different things, as far as the low blood pressure I never heard that could cause a seizure from a vasovagel problem. I am not sure the Cardiologist will find out anything but if you have any influence over your husband you might want to insist he follow up with a Neurologist to get an MRI of the brain to see what if anything might be going on. I know two excellent ones, Dr. Bajaj - he is on Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie his number is 410-410-766-7303 and Dr. Capozoli 410-268-9490 on Defense Highway in Annapolis. This seizure might be an isolated incident but once you have one you could be open to future seizures even years apart. Anyway, thought I would share this information with you, thank god he is seeing a doctor now for this. If there is anything I can do for you or just want to chat please give me a call 410-739-7457. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you both. Try not to worry he is young and strong and apparently has a good attitude and there is nothing you both cannot get through!!
