Need a recommendation for a PCP

....who is a bit familar with patients who may have had gastric bypass, RNY.

It's a new year and I am hoping to find a PCP who is up on our needs as far as blood testing, vitamins, minerals, and the do's and don'ts of prescribed medications.  

Perhaps those of you more "new" to surgery than I ( which seems to be just about everyone who posts here! LOL)  have received recommendations from your surgeons for PCPs?

I am in the Baltimore area and will drive up to 25 miles or so;  if the doctor has evening hours even better!!!!

I'm very happy with my PCP - and he may have a Baltimore office (there is one listed on his prescriptions - I've just never been there).  The office I go to is in Glen Burnie - at the intersection of ritchie hwy and Jumpers Hole Rd, in the Helix Health Center.  I know that he has at least 5 patients that have had bypass.  His name is Dr.  Sridhar Atluri.

My Sister (who has had bypass), is also very happy with her PCP.  His name is Dr. McHale - and he is in Dundalk (I think near what is or used to be Golden Ring Mall).

My PCP meets your qualifications. However, I just recently found out she is no longer accepting new patients. Good luck to you. It can sometimes to be a challenge to find someone you feel comfortable with.

I am not uncomfortable with my current PCP.  It's just that after 5 years with him, I think its time for a change to someone who isn't so judgmental and understands the needs of a RNY survivor.
