After being on a liquid diet for 3 weeks post-op I'm now ready for pureed food.  Just looking for a few suggestions for pureed meals.

OMGOSH! I would have went NUTS if I would have had to do that diet. My surgeon had me on food at day 15. But Lashay gave you AWESOME ideas. You can puree anything as long as there are no distinct pcs. You can have:

Jell-o
Cream of wheat
Grits
Most soups blenderized
mashed taters
Sugar free applesauce
The inside of a baked potato
Egg drop soup
Dannon light n fit  yogurt 0% fat
sugar free puddings
cottage cheese with sugar free preserves
cream soups made with skim milk
Tomato soup
Broth
Jello cook and serve pudding..cheesecake flav is YUUUMMMM!!!!
Luigis Italian Ice cups SUGAR FREE cherry and lemon
Lifesaver Sugar Free ice pops
Fudgesicles
Creamsicles
Low sugar Oatmeal the Weight Control Quaker is made with whey protein and very tolerated. Comes in a three pack box with Maple and Brown sugar Cinnamon and Banana Bread. All three are safe with 3g of fat each and more then 7g protein each. Each packet only has ONE GRAM SUGAR! WOO HOO!

Good luck honey. ~Jilly~

Everyone gave you some really great food choices. Just be careful and if you try something and you feel that stuck feeling do not drink anything as it will only make it worse.  I found that out the hard way. You might want to get some Gas X thins strips these help me so much if I eat something that my pouch does not like. If you find something that you do not tolerate the first time wait till you are about 4-6 months out before trying it again. I tried eggs early on and they did not do well, waited and tied off and on thoughout the months in many different ways and they still don't agree with me. Everyone is different though some people can tolerate just about any type of food early out and everything is ok with them I am not one of them.  Be careful of eating anything too dry when you get out of the pureed stage. In the early weeks and months Yogurt Dannon Light and Fit, Tomatoe soup, peanut butter and a a few crackers, cottage cheese all were life savers for me.  Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hugs,

Terri
