UPDATE ON BECKI'S HUNTER

Becki just texted me and said that Hunter does, in fact, have pneumonia, but that it's NOT bacterial, thank goodness.

His 02 stats are up and as long as they stay up, they SHOULD be going home tonight.  He'll be on round the clock nebulizer (breathing) treatments and in between treatments, will be on a rescue inhaler.

Becki thanks everyone for their good thoughts and prayers and sends her and Hunter's love to their Maryland Board family.

Unfortunately, the time Becki's had to take off is without pay, and she's already fretting about how she'll pay her bills and pay for Hunter's needs.  I told her to let us know what he needs and we'll see what we can do.  I'll do whatever I'm able to assist them and plan to suggest to Becki that she contact the manufacturer of the asthma meds to see if she can get some relief that way.

But for now, so far, so good!!!  Keep thinking good thoughts!!!

Thanks,

Tia

And my K had walking pneumonia after Christmas.

With Hunter, it's more serious because his respiratory system's already compromised by asthma.

Tell Mrs. Rogers I said hey!!!

Thank goodness he is on the mend. Ashlyn, my youngest, has asthma and was hospitalized with middle lobe pnuemonia last Oct. She spent several days on antibiotics and tons of asthma meds.
I feel for her, it is a complete feeling of emptiness when you can't make your kid better.
One thing we have found with her is that she also has reflux. Her asthma has been SO much better since we put her on zantac.
If there is anything I can do let me know.

A lot of children have that right now. Such a shame. They  get that bronchilitis that leads into it and its so hard to get rid of it. Chest PT some good nebs, and Rocephin or Gentamicin via IV should help. Poor thing. I hope he is feeling better soon. (((Hugs))))
