NO NSAIDS AFTER RNY!!!
Great reminder for everyone! One note - while in the hospital to deliver my son, they administered me drugs in the Ibuprofen family via IV directly after the c-section. My OB contacted Dr. Moein (my surgeon) and Dr. Schweitzer (since I was at Hopkins Bayview) and they both agreed that this would be fine. Not sure how other docs feel about us taking NSAID's via IV, but I just wanted to put it out there that it happened to me.

DVR told me to avoid NSAIDS but if they must be taken- use only occasionally and take with Prevacid or Pepcid- and not on an empty stomach. I rarely take anything for pain---I just bear it. Advil used to be great for aches and pain and monthly cycle cramps. Tylenol does little for my pain- but I have taken it for fevers. Lidoderm patches just don't stick to skin very well. I have used tramadol in the past when it gets really bad plus a duragesic patch for cervical pain (slipped discs in neck)- but thank goodness a lot of my pains have gone away.
I thought Ultram was the brand name and tramadol was generic of same. They are on opposings lists in the OP. hum.....
