Happy Post

Just wanted to share some of my happiness......

I am living life with THREE less prescription meds....no more lisinopril for high BP, no more Metformin for diabetes, and no more Lexapro for depression .  Its been a bit of a struggle coming off of the Lexapro but I've been trying very hard to exercise (it really does make me feel better...imagine that!), socialize with positive people, and manage my thoughts/feelings in positive ways.

I bought a pair of size 18 pants at NY and Company last night (NOT a plus size store!)

The son of one of my patients at work (who hadn't seen me in months) said to me today, "you look great, you got your hair cut, didn't you?"  Hehe....I wanted to say, "Nope, but I've lost almost 60 pounds!" but I just replied, "its actually getting a lot longer" and smiled a big old smile at him.

My co-worker said to me today as I was putting on my gorgeous size 18/20 pink tweed coat "Geez, that coat is getting big"

I slid right out of a booth at a restaurant tonight......there was no grunting or cussing involved in freeing myself from the booth.

This RNY is more amazing than I ever imagined it would be.  Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine how good I would feel after this surgery.......I truly got my life back!

Congrats! You have every right, and many reasons to be very proud! Try the same size pants at a good quality store, and you'll see they are too big. NY&C was one of the first stores I shopped at when I was no longer a plus, because to me that was one store that I couldn't wait to fit into. I bought a 16, when I was wearing 16W from other stores, to be a mini goal for me. Well, when they fit, size 14 from every other store were fitting me. Their stuff runs very small. So, when you need your next pick me up moment, go try on size 16s or even 14s in the designer brands at Macys, and you'll feel really great. I don't buy the stuff, who can afford that when you need to change sizes every few months, lol. But, mall walking and trying on clothes is good exercise for your body and mind.  Congrats again!!
Hugs!

Oh I forgot to ask you....did Lexapro work well for you? I got put on it for anxiety and only took it for one day. It did nothing but make me super sleepy. And I work with kids so I cant be sleepy all day. lol

I had wonderful results from the Lexapro.  I took it for 5 years (i was going through a rough patch in life when I started taking it)  so its definitely been challenging to ween off of it.

Congratulations on your wow moments, you should be very proud.  What your are experiencing right now is the best part of this journey, the smaller sizes, the wow moments, the compliments.  It makes you feel so good about yourself and what you've accomplished.  The nice thing is they seem to come often around the point where you're currently at.  Enjoy the moments, you deserve it.

Oh yeah, isn't it nice to be able to slide in and out of a booth at the restaurants?  Gotta love it.

Congratulations!!  I know how you feel, although I've been shrinking into all my old clothes that I kept around (I'm a pack rat) and I haven't ventured out into regular stores yet.  I'm excited to start...soon now since I'm down to my smallest size!

You're doing GREAT!
