Guess what ?? My surgery date is Feb. 20 and I am so THRILLED. I still cannot believe that I was approved. I have to pinch myself once in awhile.
I do have some questions. How do I show my before and after pictures ? How do I get that scale thing where is shows how much weight I have been losing after surgery.? Do we get cards or something to show rest. that we have had this surgery and be allowed to pay for a childs meal ??

Any helpful tips or from your own experience I would really appreciate having, if you care to share ??

I will keep you posted :):)

Congrats! That is terrific!

As to your questions...

1 - I have never figured out the before and after

2 - I will have to look to find the site that you use to create it and then you cut and paste it into your profile

3 - I got my card from my surgeon's office. However, the restaurants do not have to honor it.  I still carry it but never use it. I rarely order fro the child's menu because the food is frequently fried or starchy. I just order from the appetizer menu or a regular menu and take the leftovers home. Sometimes, I can get someone to share with me.

Congrats...just about a month away, that's GREAT!!

I got my ticker from TickerFactory.com, if you need help getting it into your signature line, I did a search of the OH website for "ticker in signature" and found other posts on how to do it.

Congrats Ellen. Where are you having your surgery and who's doing it? I heard different people say you can get the card from your surgeon or your primary will give you a letter.

Thank you and everyone in this forum for their kind kind words ! I love this website and it has been so helpful to each other. Dr. Thomas Magnuson is my surgeon and he is at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. I really like him, but he does not do any Lap procedures. He cuts and does the open RNY.My past surgeries here in Hagerstown I have done really well with post -op, however I am a few years older, so it may be a little tougher this time, but I will not worry about that.  My only concerns at this point is getting everything ready to have that I can eat after I get home. Well, at least have the right things here to "swallow" when I get home. I just have a fear that I won't be eating enough, or drinking enough, etc. So any advice on this and anything else you think I should know, please send me all the information you want.  Sorry, I forgot to tell you the date. It is Feb. 20 th

Thanks again,

My surgeon is at University and he doesnt do the lap procedure either. ;o)

Make sure you get yourself a pill crusher honey. And a lot of water. lol Crystal light is good too. Cream of wheat, sugar free puddings, broth, chicken or beef stock, decaff tea and cofee, jello, I lived on cherry jello! LOL Sugar free popsicles, fudgesicles and cream sicles. All of that will get your fluids in you while on the liquid diet honey.

How exciting for you to have your date. All the best. :o)
