Update on Progress . . .
Okay for the next 15 weeks, until I walk in Washington DC for 2 days for the AVON Breast Cancer Walk. I would like to post my progress here. Hope no one minds and for all of those who kindly made a donation to my cause THANK YOU and I'd like to take you along on my journey.
Training: Last week wasn't as successful as I hoped. A lot of personal issues and work issues got in the way, but this weekend was great. I realize that if I don't build up my stamina that I will not be able to make the walk. That said, Saturday, got to the Y at 11:00 with the grandkids. Started walking on the treadmill. At 12:00 someone came in and said that the kidszone had closed at 11:30 and I had to come and pick up the children. I only had 40 minutes and 2 miles under my belt, but I got the kids, we did the grocery shopping went home and by 2:00 my husband was home. Went back to the Y to finish my 3rd mile. Sunday: Did 3 miles on the bike and 3.5 miles on the treadmill and about 10 minutes of arms. Today I plan on doing a "recovery walk ~ 20 minutes" per my training calendar.
Fundraising: Started off with a bang. So far, I've raised $250.00 on my Avon link. Last weekend I went to a bridal show and set up a table and sold water bottles and made another $50. I also made cupcakes and brownies this weekend for a small bake sale here at work and sewed tote bags in an effort to raise funds / awareness for my cause. Still $1800 is a long way away. I hope I make it. I really want to walk!!!!

Thank you so much. I would have never thought about doing this last year at this time. I just remember being so sick all the time and not having energy to get anything done. Now all my co-workers ask how I can get everything accomplished that I do. I tell them that most of the time on Saturdays and Sundays I don't sit down! I'm so glad not to have to sit down and rest now!

Talk about being proud. Take a look at yourself. You are my HERO.
It's so funny, but yesterday I asked my husband if thin people hurt when they exercise or run. I'm at 190 lbs right now (I know not thin), but I thought it would be a lot less painful to exercise. I guess I thought that just being thin or thiner would make you fit. I don't think that's the case. Anyway his answer was no that thin people don't hurt (LOL) that's because he is 54 and thinks he is 33. He's always been in good shape. I hate that about people (LOL).

LOL I hear ya there. If you're using muscles you're not used to using, it's gonna hurt. Now I can pretty must stand on my feet all day and it doesn't hurt...nor do my hips hurt or anything like that. However I'm due for another cortisone shot in my knees so I can get back on the treadmill again. I hate not being able to really work up a sweat in the gym. it's like my new addiction.
