Well I have tried to eat lima beans 3 times and 3 times they got stuck. I now hate them I will not be eating lima beans anymore. They caused the worse stick I have had yet this last time. I thought at first that I wasn't chewing them enough but I couldn't chew them to get any mushier than I was doing. when I ate some last night I got so pissed because they got stuck that I threw the whole bowl outside in the yard LOL.  Anyway banders be careful of lima beans. Also I am down 2.6 Lbs. this week for a total of about 38 Lbs. total in 6 weeks so it's going great so far.

LMAO!!!  WITH you, honey, not AT you!!!!!  I'm sure it's the "skin" on the lima beans.  I love them, too, butter, salt & pepper - OMG!!!  BUT....since they're starchy and have no protein I usually don't bother.

Man, that stuck feeling just sucks so much!!!  You poor thing!!!

HOWEVER, have you tried edamame?  Soybeans.  I get them from Trader Joes' freezer section - they LOOK and cook up and taste similar to lima beans - without the skins.  Give them a try.  They are LOADED with protein!!!

How's everything else??

Love ya!!

I've had them in soup and they've been fine.  Wait a few more weeks and then try them again.  Things I thought I would never be able to each again are now fine.

I do love limas!!!

I could do them if I had them in soup or in the food processor.  Try some other beans, butter beans are good too.

Don't count them out yet.  I make home made butter bean soup all the time.  If you would like the recipe, pm me and I will give it to you.  The beans are really soft and you should have no problem getting them down and it's very filling.

I vote for the edamame (in the pod is my favorite!) like Tia mentioned. They are an awesome little snack that feels very, well, snacky. Even my two little girls (2 and 7) love them--I have to fight the little buggers for them! Put them in a bowl, grind some sea salt on them (I get a little grinder full at the dollar store), put a couple tablespoons of water in the bowl, cover and steam them in the micro for about 3 minutes and you have yourself a bowl of beans that will keep you busy and leave you satisfied. Do not, I repeat, do not try to eat the pod. You sort of bite the pod and they pop into your mouth. Fun little things.

I have always hated lima beans, so I'm saying no big loss!

Take care,

Denise
