Depression
*lol* Yes ma'am, I've got your info. If nature doesn't step in (which doesn't look likely), I'll be going in Tuesday 1/13 for a c-section. Will definitely keep you posted!
Big hugs back at cha!

I'm just a few weeks post op but have been through depression plenty before - and it was never weight related. To sum it up, I had a basket of lemons and didn't know what to do with it. I always had a bad hand of cards.
I am presently taking a generic Prozac 20 Mg a day.
Winter is tough on people with a lot of overcast skies and no blooming things. I have been diagnosed before with seasonal depression.
Plus the holidays have been somewhat tough, and the statements from my 401K make me want to cry.
But I get through it by asking myself "Do I have any control over this?" If I don't, why am I wasting time worrying or fussing about it, go make some lemonade!
Being married to a great husband , and having a few supportive friends, and last but not least, those OH people that are always there, all of them can really pull you through.
I hope you start feeling better soon! If all else fails, you can always head to south to some warm sunny beach for a minivacation, or if you can't take time off - grab some fake sun in a tanning booth. It helps with seasonal depressions, believe it or not. Just a thought!

Thanks for your thoughts. Winter is tough on many people for many different reasons.
I also agree that the OH family is very important. I get so much from those who probably have little clue how much they impact me.
I've scheduled appropriate appointments to help me get this under control, since a vacation is not an option or an answer for me at this time.
Good luck to you on your WL journey!

Here's a few questions for you...
1. Did you get depressed after surgery? OMG YES!!!!!!! I started yelling at my husband saying "I shouldnt have done this..why did you drive me there...what were you thinking" etc etc. I had to have someone to blame. It was BAD especially the first week. It comes and goes now but I do cry a lot when it hits.
2. When did it start? The day I came home. My anxiety was THROUGH THE ROOF!
3.How long did it last? About a week. I get my moments now but its NOTHING like that first week of hell.
4. Did you need to get meds to help? Nope I ask my surgeon and he said I didnt need them and that EVERYONE deals with this. I have not went back to my shrink but Mike is a great listener every night.
5. Did you need to see a psych on a regular basis? Nope not yet LOL
6. Were you able to get meds if needed/wanted from your WLS? Yes but just new stomach meds.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and responses.
What you are feeling is the lingering effects of "buyers remorse or what have I done to myself". I am with you! Its not as bad for me now and I have some GREAT DAYS and some CHITTY DAYS! It all depends. I dont feel like I have any strength so I am moody and blah but I know after 6 mos when I am down to my goal or damn near close it will ALL HAVE BEEN WORTH IT!!!!! Good luck sweetie. We are all here for ya. ~Jilly~

Jilly,
I didn't notice myself getting overly *****y until about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I don't think it's buyer's remorse at all. The only time I wondered what the hell I had done was the first 10 days after surgery.
this is definitely a hormonal mood shift/change thing. I am happy to report that I was not at all mean today to my DH. Thank goodness! Maybe it's a matter of working hard to make the right choices once we're aware of the bad ones. Either way, I have appointments to talk with my PCP, my WLS and Ranessa.
Somewhere in all of that, I'm sure I'll be fine.
Thanks for your support Jilly and congrats to you for joining the losers bench.
~hugs~
