New Year's Eve Lap Band
Hello Everyone,
I have posted on this site two times before and have looked at it many, many times. I wanted to take this opportunity to officially introduce myself!
My name is Heather and I live in Mount Airy, MD. I am an Elementary Assistant Principal and have an amazing husband and two sons: Cameron, 5 and Logan 16 months.
Dr. Barry Greene performed my Lap-Band surgery on New Year's Eve and so far so good. Just some gas pains and some tenderness in my belly, but it is nothing like I thought it would be. We will see how things go when I get off of the pain killers!
Anyway, I am really interested in connecting with people who traveling on the same journey as I am, it is at times hard to find people to speak with who can relate. Plenty of people are curious, but that is where it ends.
Anyway, I wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and to let you all know a little about myself. I am planning on posting a before pic, if I can find one . . .I have pretty much avoided having my pic taken for the past several years!

Hi Heather,
My name is Tammy and I had band surgery on Dec 9th and as of the 22nd of Dec I lost 15 pounds. I can't tell where the weight went but the scale says it is gone. I had gas pain in my back, and I also wasn't that hungry the first two weeks. This web site has been my best friend I really don't come in on this forum I usally stay on the Lab Band forum you get better information there because everyone on that forum had had or is getting the band. You should check it out you are going to learn so much about your band. I am learing new things every hour. I hope everything goes well for you and your journey. If you have any questions just email me through my profile.
Hi Heather welcome to the loser's bench. My new best friend the band was done on 12/11/08.
I have so far since the 3 week liquid diet prior to surgery have lost 36 lbs. I am very happy with my choice to where when i first started this journey i didn't want the band I wanted the sleeve but that was denied and I went with the band after some hard thinking about it because like i said i didn't want the band but now i am glad I did. Congrats.

Welcome and way to go on starting the New Year off on the right foot!
I'm in the Linthicum area, and have a brother in law that lives in Mt. Airy - beautiful setting out there!
Welcome, and congratulations!
I check both the Maryland and the Lapband forums but prefer the Maryland one because I feel that the people are closer and more real than talking to someone out in Alaska or in California. LOL
The easiest thing is to just bookmark both forums.
Congrats again!
